Well, today wasn’t about celebrations. Today, the Pure Alpha child would speak. Tristan stood before the crowd, his eyes fixed on the small figure standing in front of him. His son. Only ten years old, yet there he was, already carrying the weight of the whole damn kingdom on his tiny shoulders. The child, the one from the prophecy, the one they said would fix the broken world. There was this aura around him, this presence, that made people believe. And now? Now, he was about to take his first step into that role.

His presence was not loud, but it demanded silence. When his gaze finally found us, he took a slow step forward. “So this,” he said, voice deep, smooth, carrying easily over the sound of the rain, “is the Red Fang Pack.” I did not move. “It is.” He studied me, his expression unreadable. “I am Tristan and I’ve heard much of you in recent moons,” he said, walking slowly along the yard. “Whispers reach even the crown, about a pack reborn, a war fought between shadows, and a lady who stands where most men have fallen.”

She has fiery amber eyes, tan skin, and a beaming smile.

The throne room trembled. Then Peanut covered her ears. Screaming. The puppies howled. Even Cookie. Especially Cookie. Then the Last King stepped forward. His spear blazed like a star. The blue crystal inside it burned brighter than ever before. Then he shouted. Not at the monster. At Thomas. "NOW!" Everyone turned. Then the King pointed at the throne. The Heart of the Kingdom. Then: "The throne has awakened." Blue energy exploded from the crystal throne. The entire room glowed.

Somewhere through the adrenaline that is pumping through my veins, I hear King vaguely say, “Where is your playboy now.” Just as I topple over onto my back, Trinity erupts in absolute fury. She unleashes the entire clip into King. As his body drops into a loud thud, she rushes over to my side. “Colton!” her soft little voice echoes like thunder against the walls. “Colton!” She falls down next to my body and starts to shake me furiously. I keep my eyes for but only a brief second close, and then I slowly open them. “Princess, do you think you can perhaps untie me first.”

He’d never show weakness, especially not in front of me. “Let me remind you of something, Carl,” he said, voice low, dangerous. “You’ve always been second in everything. And you’ll stay that way.” I chuckled. “Ah, there he is , the Alpha, the ever-righteous Tristan. But here’s the thing, dear brother…” I leaned close again, eyes locking with his. “You can have the crown, the land, the warriors. But hearts? Hearts can’t be claimed by titles.” A thick silence fell between us.

Finding joy again. My mates and I finally rest. Finally breathe. Finally just live. Until the day Trinity appears. Looking terrified. "We have a problem." "What kind of problem?" Kai asks. "The Void King. He's not destroyed." Trinity's three voices shake. "He's dormant. Waiting. Growing. Inside someone new." Ice floods my veins. "Who?" Trinity looks at me. "You." The world stops. "What?"

Her dull eyes tried to brighten up as she stared at her son with love and admiration. “Will you, Vincent Gael, be the King of this great kingdom and all of your other Dominions?” The Archbishop continued. “Will you maintain the laws of RedShire? Will you maintain and preserve the academy, and pledge to keep the dragons and whatsoever being dragon related safe and secret according to the doctrines of RedShire’s worship, discipline and government, therefore as by Law established?” Vincent's lips curled into a smile, “I will.” The Archbishop then takes the crown from where it was placed and raises it above Vincent's head.

I would promise them her scales in return of her being under my control. King Triton was a rubbish King, working with the other supernatural kingdoms, when we should be fighting for out dominance over them, this who Supernatural Council was a load of crap which needed an end being seen to it. I watched as my irksome daughter hugged up to that dog as he looked down at her like a love sick puppy. I needed to get her away from the werewolf Kingdom.
