--- Chapter 6 ~Elena’s POV~ Here came the day I dreaded most. I sat in a room full of people fussing over my hair and makeup. Apparently, we were getting married in a church. A church. Put a bunch of murderers and criminals under the roof of God and call it holy matrimony. The irony almost made me laugh.

I declare and look at Matilda who doesn't stop smiling at me. The orchestra music slowly starts to fade in the air and the guests now take their seats. I hold Matilda's hand and we both turn to stand side by side in front of the priest who now starts to go through the pages in his book. I've seen and heard this chants multiple times in weddings and even in my own wedding before. The priest should just skip to the important part which is the vows and me removing the veil off of Matilda's face and I kiss her like my whole world depends on it.

He looked at me. "Of us," I said. "If you were counting. Which I was, this morning, in a loose way." I paused. "The night my father told me your name is chapter one. The ring on the shelf is chapter two. The engagement dinner window is — I don't know, five or six. The Wednesday afternoons. The lobby. The wedding. The first fight. Vienna. The coffee shop. The house. The garden." I paused. "The test on the bathroom counter." He was quiet.

“Exactly. Too late for wine. Too early for murder.” “Maya.” “I’m processing.” She returned with two mugs and handed one to Lena. Then she sat opposite her, serious now. “You need to hear me clearly.” Lena wrapped both hands around the mug. “Okay.” “This wedding is no longer just a job.” “I know.”

Chapter 131 Flora POV The wedding hall glittered with chandeliers and laughter, the air so sweet with roses and pastries it almost felt unreal. I stood near the altar, my gown flowing like a cloud around me, a trembling smile fixed on my lips. All around me, guests turned to admire, their joy swelling into a symphony of whispers and laughter. Today was supposed to be perfect. Today, I was supposed to step into forever. But then it happened.

'' Katherine wondered, eyeing the two of them suspiciously, ''It is that brat's wedding day after all. A few of the wedding guests had already started to dance in the center of the banquet hall. . With a smile I walked over to the window and offered my hand, which she quickly hopped onto with a loud, excited chirp. “You know just when I need you. Am I crazy, Red? I mean, today is our wedding day and here I am worried that I’m going to walk down the aisle and he’s not going to be there, or worse, he’s going to reject me again.” Red chirped and took off flying around my head which made me laugh. “I knew I was crazy. It’s going to be fine.” She chirped in affirmation at my words and settled back on my palm.

She fell into him, his strong arms were wrapping her tight, protecting her before casting her out again. "Oh, dear. This couple is my favourite..." Ginger and Garlic clapped their hands when all of their faces lit up delightfully. "The author must name this chapter, 'The First Dance'," sighed Vlora. "What?" all of them blurted out unaware.
