Alexander’s POV I stood in front of the massive screen in the conference hall, my jaw clenched as the distorted prohibition symbol continued flickering across it. The red symbol glitched violently, appearing and disappearing in uneven intervals. Beneath it was the message that had been tormenting my company for the past hour. CUT ALL BUSINESS TIES AND ALLIANCES. Every monitor in the building displayed the same thing. Every single one of them. My employees sat around the conference hall table in tense silence while the symbol flashed repeatedly after the distorted voice.

I said. "One name appeared twice in very early documents," she said. "Documents from before Dalton's involvement. The name was redacted. Professionally. Not the standard administrative redaction. Someone went back into those documents specifically to remove that name." "Can you recover it," I said. "I've tried," she said. "The redaction was thorough. Whoever did it knew what they were doing." "But the name was there," I said. "The name was there," she confirmed. "And someone thought it important enough to remove it specifically rather than leave it in a classified document that almost no one would ever access."

“Send me visuals.” The screen in front of me flickered to life as images loaded one by one. The blast had been contained, just enough to shatter glass and tear through flesh. One body lay half-covered by debris, another slumped against a wall with eyes still open. And then I saw it. Carved right into the concrete. It wasn't spray-painted or rushed. It was deep and deliberate. The symbol. Black Tide’s mark. Seeing it didn't make me angry, it made me cold. It was a ritual.

Sierra stopped to look at him but when she saw that same look on his face, the feeling of hatred she sees in his eyes every time surfaced and Sierra muttered a sorry as they continued their walk. They came across Aiden and Ryker. “Did you find him?” He asked. Arnold sighed and replied with a voice laced with anger “He made the elders sign the red letter” he reported. Everyone in Blackstone knows what the red letter means, it’s the only colored paper that’s used to depose irresponsible titleholders in the pack. He gently grabbed the picture and what he saw made his blood boil. It was a picture of Lily and Rose laughing together. To be honest it was a very lovely picture. What made his blood boil was the Red Cross drawn over it with a marker. Dante knew what this meant. Whoever it was, he knew about the girls.

And that was wrong, because first wolves don’t freeze for nothing. My phone buzzed again. Not Zevran. Unknown number. Not anyone from the network or Isara. Not anyone who'd ever contacted me before.
