She tore off her gaze from the phone and looked at Lilian. “You don’t know who Xander Reid is!” Lilian gawked at her with disbelief. Abigail shook her head in a trance. “Oh… How will you know? Let me tell you… Owen Reid is the owner of Pinnacles, the top most business empire in our country. Xander Reid is his only son who returned after twenty years.”

And Morgan placed her hand on Ezra’s arm. He turned to look at her and he seemed to calm down. She didn’t even need to say anything to him, but I could see that his face softened as soon as he looked at her.

Susan was livid but kept quiet, clearly not wanting to cause a scene at such a public event. From a short distance away, Mr. Reed waved at me. "Angus, come over here! I have someone to introduce to you. This is Mr. Morgan from Morrigan Group." I walked over and greeted Mr. Morgan with a nod. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Morgan. I'm Angus." "I've heard a lot about you. I understand you completed your project with Mr. Reed three months ahead of schedule, and the quality was outstanding," he said. It seemed Mr. Morgan was already well-acquainted with my reputation. Emily laughed beside me. "Of course! I wouldn't choose just anyone!"

DI Morgan followed close behind, a file tucked under one arm. The moment Reyes hit the sidewalk, Red moved. Straight line. No hesitation. No wave. No hello. Lucas informed him. Kane thought about it and saw it as an opportunity to finally meet Allie’s supposed mate. “Accept on my behalf. Senator Morgan had repeatedly endorsed Reid, supporting his entry into the cabinet. My visit to the Red Moon Pack will also serve to evaluate Alpha Reid.” Lucas nodded and handed a USB stick. “I also took the liberty to do a background check on him, and this is what I found.” The ever-efficient Lucas added as Kane plugged it into his laptop. He opened the file Lucas had compiled on Reid.

Then she laughed once under her breath. “Wow, finally, at least I'm not going crazy,” she muttered. Ethan stared at me like he wanted to say something else, but before he could, we heard his name. “Yo, Ethan!” A loud voice suddenly cut through the tension. We all turned, immediately my stomach dropped. Because walking into the kitchen with several football players behind him, was Ashton Reid. And unfortunately even with his bandanged body, he was still one of the most attractive people I had ever seen in my life.

“Then activate the unofficial resources. I don’t care what it costs or how many laws we have to bend. By the time we’re done with Xavier Lancaster, he’s going to wish he’d never heard the name Mortaine.” “Should I tell Morana?” I scoffed at that. “No. She’s dealing with the board and Lance and reclaiming her company. Morgan had somehow appeared behind me in a white collared shirt, carrying his backpack and a bag of freshly roasted chestnuts from my favorite shop. He stepped in front of me as though it were the most natural thing in the world. "Maddie has already divorced you," he said. "You're harassing her." Xavier frowned. "This doesn't concern you, McLeary." Morgan tilted his head. "Why not? I like Maddie. I'm trying to woo her. You're trying to steal my girl right in front of me, so how does that not concern me?"
