It wanted the girl Kreygan had just branded a harlot. 'I will break it,' Kreygan vowed, his eyes locking onto Serefy’s while his heart stayed in the laundry girl— to his mate. 'I will starve the bond until it dies. I will be the first Alpha in history to choose my own fate, even if I have to walk over my mate's broken spirit to reach the throne.' ***

Elara looked away, “then why are you here.” “To be kind,” Aven said. The word landed wrong. “Elara,” she went on, her voice softening, you must understand how confusing this has been for everyone, for Rowen especially. He has waited years for a mate, years. When the Moon finally revealed one, and it was you…, She paused, as if searching for the right word. “It was difficult.” Elara’s hands curled into fists. “He rejected me,” she said. “Publicly.” “Yes,” Aven agreed. “And that was necessary.” Elara snapped her gaze back to her. “Necessary for who.”

I grab the closest and flip it open. The handwriting is sharp and rushed. “Subject Four reacted violently again. The mutation is unstable.” I blink, confused. Subject Four. Mutation. This is not simple pack recordkeeping. I flip to another entry. “Arranged pairs will continue as planned. Loyalty is strengthened through control.” My stomach turns. This man controlled everything. Even love. Even mates. Footsteps echo faintly in the hallway outside. I freeze. After a moment they fade again. I exhale slowly and keep reading.

"I, Gregory, the Alpha of BlackHawk Pack reject you, Stephanie as my mate!" Did I just get rejected after having a steamy night with my mate? I was sure he was just kidding me. It was a joke, right? "I will never be your mate neither would you be mine. Leave this instant!” He warned, aggressively. I felt weak as tears kept streaming down my face. He gave me one more look before he passed me and walked away. Did he just leave me all alone like that?

Tears were streaming down my eyes non stop as I recounted our past. "You said you would never mate with anyone except me, you promised me ......, but just the next day everything you said meant nothing to you....,sob.., the next day I was so happy when I felt the mate bond between us, I thought the moon goddess had heard our prayers, but it just so happened that it meant nothing to you, did you even feel the mate bond..., it was just the previous day you were sweet talking to me, but the very next day, you were suddenly so cold towards me, you said such harsh words to me...., I didn't care about the way you embarrassed me, but the words you said to me, do you know how painful it was, do you.

The lady, Theresa by name smiled sweetly at Madison. I could see disappointment written on the faces of Xavier, Karl and Derek. It was obvious that they wanted Madison not a substitute. "I disagree with this decision, I don't want any substitute. When I chose this maiden, I never said I wanted a substitute" Xavier shook his head in disagreement.

He swallowed hard before locking in with my eyes. “And I reject you. I, Edmund, the Alpha of Ravenstone Pack, reject you, Calla, to be my mate. Even though you did well in the Luna Games, you still didn’t prove yourself enough to be the Luna of this pack. You need to accept it whether you like it or not.” My eyes widened. I gasped hard along with the murmurs and whispers of the crowd. I felt my eyes watering. Shit. After all the things that I did. After coming into this game. I wasn’t still enough for him!

She choose to block her out for the time period. ▪ Damien never expected to find his mate in his own pack, he had searched her for a few years and even searched for her while visiting a few packs but he didn't have any luck in finding her. He was shocked when he realised who his mate was, it was his girlfriend's shy and timid little friend. He had always found himself staring at her, well without her knowledge that is. He had never expected them to end up as mates. He had a constant threat looming over his head, he didn't want to hurt her by being selfish so he decided to do the only thing that he felt was the best to do at his current situation. Reject her for good, just give her the freedo

He seemed to be able to sense his sisters rapid heartbeat the same way I did. “I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I don’t think it means anything more than its rare.” “But so is being rejected, so everything about this is rare,” I interject and they both turn to look at me. Olina’s eyebrows furrow together as she considers this. “You’re right. You’re absolutely right. Rejections happen rarely, typically only because before marking one of the mates is abusive or unkind or whatever it is that makes the other decide they would rather risk being alone than be together, yet both of us were rejected nearly immediately under menial circumstances. That is definitely just as rare as us being mates.”

Sometimes, if a one already has a chosen mate, and they do not want to ruin what they have with that chosen mate, they will reject the fated mate. Rejecting the fated mate gives the rejected a chance to find a second chance mate, which is rare to find, but it does happen. The bond between the first rejected mate and a second chance mate is as strong, if not stronger than the bond with their first chance mate. The lasting effects on the rejected mate is usually emotional more than anything.
