Torn by fate
Callan laughed loudly, shaking his head.
Hazel scowled. “Are you okay? I don’t understand why you laugh at everything.”
“You should see the look on your face right now,” Callan said, sitting on the bed, still amused.
Hazel folded her arms, her glare sharp. “Why didn’t you reject me?”
Callan leaned back, watching her. “Because you’re my mate.” His tone was calm, as if that answer should be enough.
Hazel clenched her fists. “I was his mate too,” she snapped, her voice thick with anger. “Before he almost killed me. And yet, you kissed another woman, knowing we were mates. Stop messing with me and just reject me already!”
