Blinked. Then let out a snort. “That’s so stupid,” he said. “But you smiled.” “No, I didn’t.” “You totally did.” He rolled his eyes, took a long sip of juice, then bumped his shoulder into mine. “Okay. Maybe I did.”

I am such a couch potato. I’m laying on the orange and brown floral couch my grandmother has always had. A whole box of saltines and a galleon water bottle within reach and the remote at the ready. My training program doesn’t start for a couple weeks, so I am soaking up every moment of responsibility free time that I can. The phone resting on my stomach chimes. I pick it up and see Jareth has reacted to the meme of a baby goat screaming. Then after moment he sends me a meme of a baby pig eat ice cream.

“I cannot wait for the day Vera good gets into a fight and Eden would not be there!” “That day will be brutal” I closed the laptop. I opened it again immediately and refreshed. There was a meme now. Someone had taken a part of the video and turned it into a GIF, the exact moment Erica had me by the hair and my face was doing something undignified, and put it side by side with a stock image of a cat being held by the scruff. The account that posted it had no profile picture, no followers, no posts except this one. I knew who made it. WREN!

Rhalia fired off, followed by a slew of red flags and eggplant emojis. "I don't know how you did it, but girl... It's been what? Almost a year?? It was like someone had loosened a knot that I did not know was there. By the next week the messages stretched longer. She started sending memes that was about anxiety brain fog. I replied with a crying laughing emoji and then I added. “Too real.”
