Gods. A pair of gryphons soar overhead, their bondeds laughing as they dive through the clouds. Direwolves and their humans moving in perfect sychronizon. One particulary unimpressed frost lynx lounges across a tree branch, glaring down at everyone beneath it like they are personally offending its existence. Further in the distance, Ironclad dragons train with their bondeds, bronze scales glimmering beneath the rising sun. Terrifying, but majestic. For a few silent moments, I simply watch. Because despite all else, I still love them. I always have, even though Aetherion Academy was not supposed to be my future.

The sky-cycle’s twin engines roared beneath them as Vera and Lucien raced from the smoldering ruins of Skyforge Citadel. Dawn’s first pale light bled through lingering smoke, but the halo of the Blood Moon still glowed crimson on the horizon. Lucien guided the cycle down the battered stone ramp, his talons of metal and bone gripping the throttle’s edge. Vera leaned forward, clutching the obsidian fang at her waist, dream-silk thread still twined around her throat scar.

"Go ahead and remove your firewall if you want, Solen. Now that I'm here, this company doesn't need you anymore." Julian's expression immediately lightened when he saw her. All hesitation vanished from his face. "That's right, Skye. Just leave already. I don't need your work." I understood perfectly. Nodding once, I opened my laptop and began typing. Within moments, lines of code streamed down the screen as I dismantled the security layers I'd built from scratch. The woman watched over my shoulder, smirking. "This architecture's ancient. I honestly don't know what you're so proud of. I could break that with just a few lines of code."

An obsidian stone is inside my seal, and the guards fall over themselves to let us inside once they know who I am. The wall is ridiculously tall, made of thick, reinforced steel. I crane my neck back, move my hair back to see it all. The portly guard pulls a lever, and a portion of it lowers. Clunky and groaning, the ice flys out, the gate forcing its way open. The gate lowers completely, warm water slowly trickles out, and the inside of Estate Eclipse is steaming. I grab onto Dante and he helps me past the blocks of ice until we cross the other side of the gate.

As they ran toward the window, both of the men shifted into nearly identical dragons, Flint’s slightly smaller than Slate’s. The younger brother broke through the window, darting out into the sky while Slate paused a moment, waiting for Nya. With no hesitation, she mounted him, running up his tail and wrapping her legs around his neck. His great wings began to pump as he followed his brother through the shards of colored glass and out into the sky.

Jack stood there, his emotions swinging wildly from deep sadness to elation, his heart on an emotional roller coaster. He held back this time, realizing that Hannah's relentless behavior would only leave her more deeply wounded. All he needed to do was offer her a warm shoulder when the dust settled, and everything would be alright. As the helicopter faded from Hannah's sight, the dying echo of its blades pounded in her chest like distant thunder. Eventually, she could not stand it anymore and just crumbled.

She saw flashes of lights from the figures in the sky. A bright light was going from one towards the other while the other person dodged and raised a counter attack, sending a red beam of light. It was like watching a movie for Mia. Everything seemed so when she suddenly realized that they were fighting. Right above her head a fight was going on. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
