I looked him dead in the eye, and with every bit of strength I had left, I spoke—each word slow, deliberate, and cold.
"Ryan. A month ago... was there another girl locked in this room?"
The arm he had around my waist went rigid.
"Her name was Lindsey," I continued. “She’s my roommate."
Ryan’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. Seeing his reaction, the last spark of hope I had for him died. Pain and hatred hit me like a tidal wave. I shoved him away, stumbling slightly from the sheer exhaustion of it all.
"Now... do you still want to ask if I'm scared of you?"
