Alex touched the faint scar beneath his collar, fingers ghosting over the line no one else could see.
No one else remembered.
But he did.
Always.
She was your mother, Kelvin whispered, not unkindly.
“She was an omega,” Alex replied darkly, staring at the horizon like it owed him an explanation. “And she tried to kill me.”
But you still loved her.
Alex turned cold.
“I don’t want to talk about this.”
Silence.
Then, after a beat:
She was broken. And now you are too.
Alex growled, low and guttural, silencing Kelvin immediately.
