At the burial site, a beautiful marble mausoleum stood tall, ready to embrace the queen's eternal rest. The sun cast a soft, melancholic glow upon the gathering as the casket was lowered into the ground. King Alaric, his voice trembling with sorrow, spoke heartfelt words of farewell, his voice cracking with the weight of his emotions.

"Stay with me! We have so much to do! You can't leave me alone!" But Roger shook his head very slowly and a look of peace came over his face. "I'm tired, Jamie," Roger said, his voice fading away. "I am so tired…I want to finally rest. I have been stressed for years. The secrets... the lies... it was too much…I just want to sleep now." Immediately after he finished speaking, Roger’s chest rose one last time and then stayed still as he drew his last breath, and the light behind his eyes went out. And his hand, which Jamie was holding so tightly, fell limply to the ground.

Then, with a quiet exhale, he rested his forehead against hers. “When this is over,” he said, “there will be no Moretti blood left but ours.” Her eyes closed. “Then let’s make it worth it.” Outside, thunder rolled across Palermo. Oh, damn, it's one hell of a body. I heard a loud cough and looked up at the man sitting on the throne looking like a god. "You may rise, my men." He spoke to Kay and Kane, they both rose from their bowing positions and nodded at their 'leader'. "We have found her, my king." Kay spoke looking at the solid ground in front of him. King... What the hell? "Good job, Kay. You are dismissed." Kane and Kay left the room, closed the doors after them and left me alone with the hottest species in the fucking universe. Beta Clifford quipped, "We can show you how Alpha's like to party." I laughed, "I don't think I can imagine the King's Alpha being a party boy." I teased looking at Alpha Cyrus. He looked broody in the doorway. He hadn't spoken since I walked out of the closet. His eyes watched me, still dark. Maybe David was right about the looks he was giving me.

"Let's go " Levilah glanced at me one last time, then he stood up and left. His guard followed behind, carrying the half-dead alpha with him. I heaved a sigh of relief the moment they left as I sat on the floor weakly, unable to do anything. Just when I thought everything was finally over, the door opened again and two hefty-looking Alpha king's guards barged into my room. What is going on?

He said. "We will, therefore, give our King the honor he deserves and allow his remnants to rest in perfect peace." The Elder handed the mic over to me. It was my right to allow the King to pass on till we all got to meet in the afternoon life. "I greet and welcome you all as we've gathered to wave our former King goodbye. We'll all pray for the King in the afterlife. Rest in peace, Father." I said a silent prayer in my heart to the moon Goddess.

Now there was only this — cold, steady breathing and eyes that watched everything. He killed it. My baby. Jax’s kid. One needle and it was gone like it never mattered. I won’t cry for something I never got to hold. Crying is noise. Noise gets you killed. I’ll be quiet. I’ll be useful. And when the time comes, I’ll be the last thing he ever sees. The door opened. King stepped in, carrying a plate of food himself this time — grilled chicken, rice, some vegetables. He closed the door behind him with his foot and set the plate on the small table.
