Hailey always wears bright colors, from pink to yellow to green and stuff like that, but now, all she wore was black, not like she was trying out the mysterious girl or bad girl kind of black, but an "I'm mourning something” type of black. She had a blue eyeliner drawn around her eyelids; the lower and upper parts, but she still remain gorgeous. It was so graphic to look at, like a two goodie shoe turning into a dark person overnight.

They are like shadows, consuming the souls of people, turning them into dead skeletons. What was peculiar about them was that they were controlled by vampires, wolves' natural rivals. So, wherever one was found, a vampire was close by.

She glared at Gabe. He chuckled, turning the page of his book. "You could be." He mumbled and Ruby grabbed her book and chucked it right at his head. "I hate you!" She screamed. "If we can find the opaque crystal we can contain Dietus power, control him to do our bidding. All these crystals," he turned to the next page and next. "They all come from dragons. Their scales were made of them and each contain different power. A white dragon with purple eyes were the rarest and most powerful."

Crystal looked up at him, her face pale and wet with tears. “What are we going to do, Adrian?” Crystal’s voice trembled as her words slipped out like a whisper caught in the wind. Her eyes, wide with fear, glistened with unshed tears. Every breath she took was shallow, as if the weight of the moment had stolen the air from her lungs.
