Inside, among old letters, used candles, and an empty vial with traces of silvery liquid, it was there: the grimoire. It was ancient, with yellowed pages and frayed edges. The smell of dried herbs and melted wax still clung to its leaves. Susan opened it, flipping through quickly, her green eyes searching for any reference to a spell for breaking bonds, neutralizing essence, or dissipating a mark. But what she found made her choke on her own breath.

"We found prisoners. In the back room. Wolves who were being bled for dark magic." Dain's family. I pulled away from Rowan. "Are they alive?" "Some of them." Lyra's voice was careful. "But there's something else. Something you need to see." She led us through the forge to a back chamber, where a crude altar had been constructed from black stone. On it lay a book—ancient, leather-bound, its pages covered in the same symbols that had been carved into the blood mage's staff. "It's a grimoire," Lyra said quietly. "A book of dark magic. And it contains a ritual—a way to counter the Silver Flame."

Yet the books she came across seemed more like grimoires than anything. "This explains how powerful she's gotten." Amira grumbled to herself as she picked up a grimoire and skimmed through it, "Half of this is in a language I don't understand." She sighed and set it back down with the rest, "Give me something. Anything." She called out into the dimly lit room, but nothing responded in turn.

It was a pathetic and undeniable craven existence but it was how they were winning the war. Dave let out a sigh. "No. He used a HG blade." I nodded. A brilliant man named Henry Gomez spent his life developing a UV spiked, but essentially silver based liquid that could be applied to any metallic object, leaving a coat of active poison that would kill both shade and host upon entering the their shared body. Something in perfectly balanced formula temporarily imprisoned the shade and as long as the wounds you inflicted on the human were mortal, the shade shared the same fate. The HG liquid had become as precious to us as light bulbs. It was hard to come by at the best of times, especially out h

I blew on the dust, opening the lunch box with a gentle click, I took out the Grimoire that sat within it. I let my fingers trail around my family crest symbol that was on the cover. It was a detail of three roses, all intersecting each other at the end. I tried to open the Grimoire but it was locked. My eyes fell on the writings below. 'The Book of countless shadows.' 'Blood is the key.' I understood and knew what I needed to do.

My name is Elora and I reside at the Blue Mountain Packhouse. I have a slim figure, long curly blonde hair which I usually wear up in a bun so it is out of my face. My eyes are a deep blue which I love. I am not a normal girl though. You see I am a shewolf, my rank at the packhouse is an omega. I don’t know my parents because they passed away when I was just a tiny baby, so I don’t have any memories of them. The only thing I have is a necklace locket from my mother. I have never taken it off because it makes me feel close to her spirit.

Even though Scottie had more of the attitude she would want in an heir. “Then call your Grimoire, and let her read it. Now.” Belle’s tone was completely unforgiving. Slowly Lyssandra resigned herself and called it forth. She hadn’t expected any of this. She couldn’t figure out how they were found by the Royal couple without Elentari awakening. The Grimoire placed itself in front of its owner. It was a deep black leather bound book with crimson writing on the front. There were various bookmarks sticking out. Lyssandra pushed it to her daughter.

recognize. I walked over to her, and sat down. “Hey! What you reading?” I peered over, “oh Narcia you’re here! I’m sorry I didn’t realize! I am actually thrilled to see you, do you think you could help me with this…” she started rambling excitedly, “Alpha Marcus came to me yesterday and gave me this book. I have seen it before, when he helped Mila the first time we was cursed, he used it to draw out the magic in her… he called it a G.. Gim.. Gam..” she was stuttering trying to remember, “a Grimoire?” I asked. “YES! That is it.. have you heard of it before?” I looked at her amused, “a Grimoire is just a fancy word for a spellbook, it’s basically just a textbook of magic. You can’t use it unl

I never got the chance to read it so I didn’t truly know what it was about. Kat looked frustrated with us but still, she was picturesque, especially in that nightdress. Sexy! “Sprites were creatures that lived amongst us thousands of years ago and were known to create and cause diseases. When they perished, a grimoire was formed but copies were made instead to hide its powers of causing more illnesses. No one knows where the real one is but every pack should have a copy of the grimoire of sprites.” I opened the door of the library, one that had been carved by the fingers of Moonstone’s prisoners several years ago, having the engravings of an eagle with the tail of a serpent.

She grabbed the handle of her closet door and pulled it open, revealing the trapdoor hidden beneath the piles of clothes. Her breath caught in her throat as she descended the creaky wooden ladder into darkness. The musty smell of damp earth filled her nostrils as she landed softly on the ground below. With a sense of urgency, she pushed the trapdoor closed above her, blocking out the dim light from her apartment. In the darkness, Sarah felt her way forward, her fingers brushing against rough stone walls as she navigated the narrow passage. Every sound seemed magnified in the silence, echoing off the walls and sending shivers down her spine.
