Yvonne’s POV Seven days. That was all we had. Richard’s words from earlier still echoed in my head, slicing through the quiet like the edge of a well-sharpened dagger. “In seven days, we take her out.” Take her out. The simplicity of those words was deceptive. It wasn’t that easy. Nothing involving Selena ever was.

I shot back. They stood there, seething, breathing heavy. I stepped back, forcing them to look at me. “I went into their den. I walked out. I made them agree to prove themselves in seven days. Do you hear me? I got them under my sleeve. You played with 365. I play with seven.” Their mouths fell open. Shock. Silence. “You… what?” Dino whispered. Sandro shook his head, agape. “Seven days…? You dared them?”

It could temporarily cut off our link with our wolves and block our memories. "You want to wipe out all traces of me from your mind," I said flatly. I stared at him in a daze. I could feel my wolf trembling like I was. My mate was going to devote himself to keeping another she-wolf company. "No, Melody! It's only for 21 days." Dylan tried to explain himself softly, as if he were trying to coax a pup. "When she's gone, I'll come back. We'll have the bonding ceremony, just like we planned. We're true mates. Our wolves get on so well. They're inseparable."

"It does not divide evenly. How do we split it?" "Two days each with one day free," he proposed. I objected immediately. "Two days is not enough." Jax agreed for once. "Not nearly enough." "During the day, anyone can be with her," Riven specified. "But nights, the bed she sleeps in, must be designated." "I want Mondays and Fridays," I said. It gave me bookends on the week. "Tuesdays and Saturdays," Jax chose, claiming weekend strength for public moments. "Wednesdays and Sundays," Riven took, balanced in the middle and end. "That leaves Thursday free."

I tell myself I’m not going to watch him today. That I’m done with it. That whatever this is, this is a pattern, this tension, this… thing… I’m not going to feed into it. It lasted exactly twelve minutes. It starts in the hallway between the second and third period. Same place as yesterday. Same time. Same feeling.

Aside from a faint band that didn't quite match the rest of his skin, there was no visible proof that we'd even been in love. It was only then that I realized I was divorced. I raised my hand to take off my ring, too, but the band that slipped on perfectly seven years ago was now jammed tight at the knuckle. No matter what I did, it wouldn't budge. Maybe I should just give up, I thought. It was just a ring. It didn't mean anything.

There was a freshly baked cake on the table, but I never got the chance to eat them. As I closed my eyes for the last time, my mind was still replaying past events. After my death, my soul drifted in the sky. I heard that after one dies, they could become a spirit for three days to accompany their loved ones. I returned to my wife’s side, watching her start a new life. I remembered the last man I saw next to her. I vaguely remembered that his name was Ronan. During those three days as a soul, I kept my distance from her.

And I trembled in his arms. "Yes, but you shouldn't have put so much effort in for me," I told him and he said. "I will do whatever I want to do for my love. You can't stop me." I smiled at his words. He let go of me and turned me to face him. Then he went on his knees and forward a ring in front of me. "I can love you for four days, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.” “Oh no! Maybe three days, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.”
