“What happened?”
Robin Hood frowned, his brows drawing together. “I don’t know,” he said. “It’s like something stopped me halfway and threw me back.”
Damien’s gaze sharpened. “Try again.”
Robin Hood nodded and focused once more. He disappeared again, but this time he returned even faster, his frustration more visible now.
“Still?” Damien asked.
Robin Hood shook his head, exhaling sharply. “Still.”
“Again,” Damien said.
Robin Hood tried a third time, forcing more effort into it. For a split second, the space beside Damien felt like it might hold—but then he was back again, this time with a clear edge of irritation in his expression.
