The massive, scarred werewolf who had first recognized Elira gave a deep, respectful nod and stepped closer, his protective stance now clearly encompassing both women. She led them through an archway into a smaller, warmer chamber lined with furs and lit by a central firepit. The air smelled of pine, leather, and a deep, earthy magic. Here, the alpha’s powerful aura softened.
