A howl sounds some distance in the front, just at the same time a group of rogues leap out of the bushes. I spring into motion immediately, all my training kicking in. I knock the first one down just before he shifts into his wolf, wrapping the wire around his neck and pulling hard. Suddenly, the clearing is a battlefield. Weapons clash against weapon, rogues fall down. I roll to the side, avoiding the snapping of fangs as a wolf lands where I stood a second ago. From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself.

"Alpha! We are under attack!" From the cliffs, dark figures emerged—wolves in black armor, their eyes glowing red. Raven’s rogues had come. My stomach twisted. "They are trying to stop our alliance." The Alpha growled, drawing his massive battle axe. "Then they made a grave mistake coming here." The rogues descended like a storm, their war cries echoing through the icy air. The battle began. I shifted immediately, cutting down the first rogue that lunged at me Kael fought beside her, his claws flashing through the air.

Harrison offered. “Thanks, but no thanks. Being rogue suits me if you haven’t noticed. It lets me walk in and out of any pack I need to and makes it easier to blend into things when I’m around humans,” Hayden said. “Let’s go inside so I can talk to Mimi and find out everything she knows.”

One of the Rogues broke through our ranks and lunged at Alpha Matthew with surprising speed. I watched in horror as the Rogue’s teeth sank into Alpha Matthew’s shoulder, blood spilling out onto the ground. “Alpha Matthew!” I screamed, rushing to his side. But it was too late. The Rogue had disappeared into the night, leaving us all shaken and terrified. As I tended to Alpha Matthew’s wound, I couldn’t help but wonder: who were these Rogues, and why were they so determined to attack our pack?

Or which ones are opportunistic enough to take advantage of the unrest. Is it Alpha Dennis of the Ironclaw? Or is it the arrogant meathead Alpha Stefan? My fists clench into tight fists. “Who?” I demand. “Which packs attacked?” Clyde looks up from his tablet, his face tight with unease. “That’s the thing,” he says. “This wasn’t the work of packs either. The attackers… they were Rogues.” I freeze. Rogues? Rogue wolves are the scum of our kind—vagabonds stripped of pack, Alpha, and allegiance. Most of them are expelled for unforgivable crimes: murder, rape, treason. Others run to escape judgment, hoping to disappear into obscurity rather than face a sentence.

he sighed, “Well, they were criminals…” I mumbled, “Rogues, darlings are not always criminals. My parents were rogue vampires for a while. A rogue is a person who is not in a pack or into society; it does not mean they committed a crime,” he sighed, and I squinted my eyebrows. “Are any of those guys the case?” I asked, and he took a deep breath. “No, two of them attacked a pack and killed several warriors, and the other one robbed a shop and killed the owner,” he said, and I took a deep breath.

Its Rowena, I don’t think a princess is ever going to be a sacrifice. Silence followed after I had said that,but I felt his tension ease. I looked at him in a way he wouldn’t know, I wanted to take all his features, his looks and the way he looked at me when I wasn’t starring. Why do they call you the rogue Alpha , I found myself asking. When I asked that question it seemed to get his attention because he looked at me. I don’t go with their rules princess and I don’t worship their stupid moon goddess who abandoned my people when your people turned against us or because I protected my people with my own power.

“I doubt it. Those were put there for petty crimes that were nowhere near the forest.” Greg scoffed and said, “This is where those of us in the rogue world have an upper-hand. For some reason, you authoritative figures often believe that we operate solo when the fact is most of us don’t. But, of course, I speak for lycans. I don’t know if proditors are accustomed to doing things as a team but the events in Blue Crescent today show us that, accustomed or not, rogue vampires who can work in a team do exist. And rogue teams that can work together are dangerous at best and lethal at worst.”

Some valid, but mostly because they were traitors, vicious and untrustworthy. Which made the pack volatile and unruly, and that chaos suited their leader, whose wolf was becoming more and more unhinged. I glared at him and started walking away. " Ah…Wait..." I stopped walking and turned around to stare down at him. He avoided my eyes again, " Fine...I'll talk" he mumbled. Clover got off him and smiled at me, " You're welcome" she said and skipped away. I turned my gaze back to the rogue. He scratched his his head nervously, " This is so awkward and weird" he mumbled and sighed. I took the time to look at him well. He had dark hair that looked so untidy from him running his fingers through. His eyes were a light grey and his lips were pale and thin. His nose was not so pointy and his brows were on point. He should be at least 6'0 feet.
