"You wanted me to make a scene." Jade's lips curved into the tiniest smile. "Did we?" Before I could respond, the hall doors burst open. A figure strode in, power radiating from every step. The crowd parted like water. My breath caught in my throat as I recognized him. Everyone knew who he was. Zane Darius. The Rogue King. The wolf even Alphas feared. His eyes scanned the room before landing on me. Something sparked in those dark depths. "Am I interrupting something?" His voice was velvet over steel.

Stories and gossip around this place spread faster than a wildfire in winter! “Otsana overstepped her boundaries!” I growled. “The queen wanted her gone. Either you live with it, or you leave. Just a warning if you decide to leave …” A smile started to form in the corners of my mouth. “Alison is also the queen of the rogues. Rogue’s hand simply bypassed the Swamp and tore through her intestines, he looked at her fearful eyes and swung her to the side, making her smash against the mountain wall.

Maverick stiffens beside me, his eyes flashing with something I can’t name right now. Ahead of us, branches snap and something massive shifts in the shadows. I catch a glimpse of its eyes, unnatural, red and burning. It’s not a normal werewolf, but a rogue. And it's not a random rogue. Nyx pushes against my skin, desperate to break free. ‘A rogue. Kill him.’ The rogue snarls, his shoulders bulging as he steps into view. His eyes linger on me for a heartbeat, then move back to the ground. I push forward, ready to shift, but in a flash, the rogue lunges away. The trees shake as he crashes through them, gone before I can rip free my claws.

The rogue shakes its head and still doesn’t shift, whining, morosely, as it continues to cower. I follow the aqua thread that is connected to the rogue and quickly breech its mind. Me: ‘You need to shift back now, or I will be forced to kill you.’ Rogue: ‘How...' Me: ‘It’s one of my gifts. Now do as I said.’ Rogue: ‘I can’t shift. I am stuck this way.’ Me: ‘Why?’ Rogue: ‘I can’t tell you.’ Me: ‘You can’t, or you won’t?’

Part of him wanted to turn into a wolf, but he refused. Suddenly, from behind the Rogues, another Rogue appeared. He was different from all the Rogues who had attacked him. His body was more robust and larger. His fur was silver, a very rare color. He didn't look like a Rogue at all. His eyes were also different.
