I whispered with a loving smile, "which story would you like tonight?" Mathew's face lit up with excitement, his tiny hands reaching for his favorite book. "The one about the brave little wolf, Mumma!" I chuckled as I opened the book, a captivating story about a young wolf's grand adventure. Mathew listened with rapt attention, his eager eyes fixed on the pages as I spun the tale of bravery and exploration. By the time I reached the part where the little wolf found solace under the silvery glow of the moon, my son was already fast asleep.

When I see how much time is spent,I read them a bedtime story about the rabbit and the hare. I am in the middle of reading when I notice quietness, and I look down to notice the twins are already fast asleep. I close the book before leaning over to drop it on a nightstand. I pat their hair,a sigh of contentment escaping my lips, before kissing them on their heads. "Good night, my babies." I mutter,a smile on my lips, as I slowly drift into dreamland.

A small nightlight shaped like a rocket ship glowed in the corner. "Mummy, can you read me a story?" Bernard asked, his big eyes looking up at her hopefully. She smiled and brushed his hair back. "Of course, sweetheart. Which one?" "The one about the brave knight!" Mrs. Harrington reached for the book on the nightstand and began reading. Her voice was soft and soothing, painting pictures of castles and dragons in the boy's imagination. Within minutes, Bernard's eyelids grew heavy, and soon he was fast asleep. She kissed his forehead gently, turned off the main light, and stepped out of the room, closing the door quietly behind her.

I hop on the bed and lean my head against her neck as I wrap my self around her. “I can’t sleep alone anymore. My nightmares keep haunting me” I said miserably. “I’m sorry, I wish there was something I could do or give you to make them go away forever” she said as she kissed the top of my head “Do you want me to tell you a bed time story?” she asked softly. I looked up at her radiantly and nodded my head in excitement. “Once upon a time, in a land far away, lived a beautiful young girl…”

Angel changed into her pajamas. Brushed her teeth and got ready for bed. Shayla lay down beside her on the bed. Angel curled up close. Rested her head on Shayla's shoulder. Grayson sat in the chair beside the bed. Picked up a storybook from the nightstand. He started reading. A fairy tale. About a princess and a knight and a dragon. His voice was soft. Soothing. Perfect for bedtime. Angel's eyes started getting heavy. Drooping. Closing.

"You're going to make me cry for the tenth time today." "Then we'll cry together." He stands, pulls me gently to my feet. "Come on. Let's go to bed. You need rest." I let him lead me out of the nursery, but I pause at the door for one last look. The room is bathed in the soft glow of the nightlight, a small lamp shaped like a moon that Roman bought. It casts shadows on the walls, makes the painted forest look alive. This is where she'll sleep. This is where she'll dream. This is where we'll rock her to sleep, sing her songs, read her stories.

“We’ll stay until you fall asleep.” Liam lies back down, his little hand reaching out to grab mine. I sit on his other side, smoothing the blanket over him. “Daddy, tell me a story,” he mumbles, his voice already heavy with sleep.
