Olivia looked at her and she immediately took her into her embrace. "It's okay... you're okay. Don’t cry, you’re all right. Come on... please, don’t cry," Olivia whispered as she stroked Rayne's brown locks. Rayne was shaking terribly, holding onto Olivia with all the strength she had in her body. "Rayne... that was just some talking..." Evelyn mumbled as she rubbed Rayne's back.

But now, in the solitude of her memories, the weight of her sorrow came crashing down. Ronnie wrapped his arms around her, offering silent comfort. He didn’t ask questions or rush her; he simply held her as she cried, his warmth a soothing balm against the storm inside her. Her sobs gradually turned into silent shakes, then quiet hiccups, the sound of her heart breaking evident in the stillness of the room. "You'd better obey me, or else, I won't mind broadcasting how u look right now to the whole of Italy!"

I wondered if this was one of the tragedies Elsa had warned us about, if we were about to lose everything, just as they had. Lyra’s quiet, desperate voice broke through my thoughts. “I didn’t do it, Ronon, please,” she whispered, her voice cracking as tears poured down her face. She looked utterly broken, her eyes red and swollen, her nose flushed. This was the first time I’d seen her cry like this, her whole body shaking with the weight of her pain and fear.

I laughed some more as I wiped the loose tears. “I’m sorry.” I apologized, “I don’t know what came over me. I guess I’m just overwhelmed? I was so worried and scared. I actually thought you-” I broke down again. The tears just couldn’t stop pouring out and it was getting really frustrating. “I’m sorry again. I don’t want to cry but I can’t help it.” I tried to smile at Ronnie as tears continued to fall.

"Ronnie! Honey, where are you?" Suddenly, a strong voice rang out. I waved my arms frantically. "Otto, over here!" Everyone exchanged confused glances. "Why is Mr. Garrett here?" "Did he just call her 'Ronnie'? That's short for Veronica, isn't it? Could it really be…?" Otto stormed in, his composure shattering the second he saw Agnes unconscious. "Did anyone call an ambulance? What happened? How did this all happen?" Then his eyes fell on Agnes' swollen face—and mine. His voice trembled with pain, almost breaking. "Ronnie… tell me, who did this to you and Agnes?"
