Slipping back into her innocent act, she shook her head with a look of mock confusion. "Do you think Rory's just mad at me, so she spent a fortune to hire people and put on a show? That's exactly how it goes on TV. "She's just a professor's daughter, what could she possibly have to do with a billionaire? She's definitely doing this to steal my Shawn away." Shawn instinctively reached out to touch the ring finger of his left hand, but there was nothing there. Shawn felt a sudden, empty void in his heart. "That must be it. Rory's been throwing a tantrum lately. She's not one to just put up with it when she feels wronged..."

Rosalie said lastly ro her sister before she left. After Amanda also took her leave, Rory was alone with Professor Valdez. “Shall we?” Sophia said, leading the way to a sleek Camry. “You were exceptional today, Rory. A true pleasure to watch.” “Thank you,” Rory murmured, the praise feeling distant. Inside the car, Sophia turned to her. “I am a professor of chemistry at Yale.” Rory’s eyes widened. “That’s an incredible achievement.” A small, proud smile touched Rory’s lips. “I have big dreams, too.”

“I help the poor every day, Taylor, you don't know that because you don't know everything about me.” She suddenly pauses from her walk and turns to me, making me pause in my movement also. Her eyes are cold and deadly as they stare into mine like they can see my soul. “I know everything about you, Rory, more than you even know about yourself and right now I know you're drunk and I also know you won't have $8,316 to your name when you're done with this madness.” she takes a deep breath and begins to walk towards the bathroom. “Why do you care?”

"You walk out and leave me to drown? You're going to Mr. Menzer. You're paying my debt." Rory hit the ground, blood spilling from his mouth. Still, he crawled, hands trembling, trying to gather the ashes. Then the wind came—and scattered what was left. Rory hugged himself, shaking. The light in his eyes flickered out, one piece at a time. My chest burned. "How much did you sell him for? I'll pay." Donald looked me over, scoffing at my plain clothes. "Fifty grand. You got that?" "I do."

But the thing was, I was unaware of any of Rory's past relationships while she knew the tiniest details about all of my relationships. It just did not seem fair. "Ooh... Juicy details." Gabby clapped. "Did you know she once hooked up with a porn star?" "WHAT?" "WHAT?" Rory glared at her. "I did not!"

Ethan slapped me hard on the back, nearly knocking me off balance. “Useless! This is all your fault! I told you to keep Rory happy. What the hell did you do?” “That ungrateful girl! She wants to see us dead! Her mother was a curse, and so is she!” His curses and Emma’s sobs felt distant. I remembered years ago, when my startup failed and I stood on the rooftop drowning in debt. Rory had run up like a madwoman and wrapped her arms around me from behind. She didn’t say much. She just placed all her savings, bank cards lined up one by one, in front of me.

The director yelled angrily and stormed out of the venue.

While reading their profiles, I exclaimed, "Woah, I had no idea they were such a big deal." My eyes widened and I covered my mouth in disbelief as I turned the page to the next page. "Raven is on of the backer?" I keep reading his profile and drowning in his earnings. "Around $200 million... per month?! What the fudge?!" "Where are the particulars, Ms. Formosus?" "Oh, my God!" I jumped on my swivel chair and held my chest because of the sudden talk from Mr. Jax. I inhaled and exhaled before facing him.
