The Man I Buried
Rowan POV
The northern ridge was cold in the early morning, the air crisp and sharp as I rode along the path leading into Kael’s village. I kept my wolf at a slow, steady pace, senses alert, the muscles beneath my skin coiled for action. Allies were coming—strong, disciplined warriors, pack mates from the Eastern Ridge Pack—and I was here to greet them, assess their strength, and report back.
The clearing came into view, smoke curling lazily from chimneys, the usual bustle of the village in motion. But even before I saw the formations, I felt it: the bond. Strong, undeniable, radiating from two of the villagers like heat from fire.
