Rowan's eyes flickered to what Sky was wearing, she hadn't actually had a proper look yet. It was pretty average, black trousers and a white tank top under her dark blue cloak. Dark blue wasn't a colour either of the two nearby nations wore. Rika was dark purple and Lamarie was a lighter blue. Rowan herself wore a dark green, it blended with her background better and let her hide easier. She couldn't lie and say Sky didn't suit the blue colour, it was just intriguing. "So where exactly are you from?" Rowan asked, a small smile tugging on her lips but it vanished into a frown once Sky had responded

Rowan couldn’t keep the disdain out of his voice. Enzo’s lips pulled into an even broader smile, something that looked strange on him to someone who knows him, but if you didn’t, he just looks like a typical nice guy. He didn’t offer Rowan his hand, “Enzo Vitale. Who are you?” Rowan’s jaw was lined with tension, “Rowan Connolley, the husband of the woman who you’ve got your hands on.” “Ex-husband,” Enzo supplies with a grin, and I have to bite my cheek not to smile.

Chase approaches Rowan who was greeting some people over the far end of the ball room. "Chase! He's the second son right?" Carlos Santana, a Mafia questions Rowan while smiling at Chase who kept a straight face. "Yes." Rowan replies him. "Oh my, I have been looking forward to meet you. I'm Carlos Santana, Rowan's age mate." Chase looked at him and slowly take his hand, shaking him. But without a word. He turned to look at Rowan.

Damien’s POV She told me at the raised beds. Eli was occupied with the investigation stick nearby. Far enough that they would not hear. Close enough that we could see them. She told me quietly and completely. Brennan’s son. The city. Five years. Six months before her arrival. I listened. I did not speak until she had finished. Then I said his name. Rowan. She looked at me. You know him, she said. I know of him, I said. He left the territory when he was twenty three. We were told he wanted to live outside the pack. It happens. Not common but not unheard of. I had no reason to think it was anything other than that.

I nodded. Rowan didn’t look like he believed me. He brought out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, blowing the smoke in my face. “So, you’re my elder brother?” He asked with a chuckle. I remained calm as I watched him. He didn’t look like the little brother I knew. He was a man and even worse, a broken one. “Biologically, yes,” I responded. He arched an eyebrow at me. “Seems like you have a lot to say Mr Fancy style,”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Her response was genuine enough, Alex could tell. It seemed, living in this environment, Rowan would not have learned much of anything about the cultures of the world beyond, ancient and present, as he had. It was true, this figure posed a striking resemblance to ancient Egyptian depiction but Alex was still not sure. It might have helped if knew Rowan’s ancestors a little more, but unfortunately he never knew they even existed until this morning.

I turn toward it. Rowan stands beside us, wearing a black formal shirt with the top buttons undone and a fitted matching blazer. His dark hair is styled neatly and his brown eyes are sharper than usual, warm and intense at the same time. He looks dangerously good and it is unfair how much my body reacts to seeing him.
