Angelica watched it for a long while but it didn't fly away. Getting out of her bed she went to the window. She looked outside and watched the darkness that fell over her town. Then she looked up and far away. She saw the cursed castle standing proudly on the hill. People called it the wolf's den because they said anyone who went to the castle never came back. They were eaten by the big hungry wolf living there.

He had no human part left; he was nothing more than a large wild wolf. A soft whimper brought me out of my thoughts. My head snapped toward the small child, and I immediately ran over. It was a little boy, no older than six and he was curled up in a fetal position. I knelt beside him, and that was when I noticed his scent; he was a vampire. I froze for a minute. Vampires didn't usually come this close to pack territory. Maybe the information we received was accurate and the vampires were, in fact, working with the rogues.

Matteo stepped into a dark hallway, with candles flickering along the walls. His short blond hair was neatly combed back, and his blue eyes scanned the area until they found a black coffin sitting in the middle of the room. He walked over and gently lifted the lid. Thousands laid up in their homes to hide away from winter's harsh bite, giving her the perfect opportunity to strike when needed.
