The mountain shook as the seal slammed shut—stone folding in on itself, runes carving deeper, magic collapsing inward like a dying star. The Wraith thrashed wildly, shadows tearing free and dissolving into nothing. “No!” it bellowed. “You cannot—!” “I can,” Astra said, voice breaking at last. “And I will.” She stepped forward, pressing her bleeding hand to the Wraith’s chest. Light exploded outward. For one terrible heartbeat, she saw everything. The past. The future. The child she would one day bear—silver-eyed, radiant, hunted. Lyra. Tears burned Astra’s eyes.

“By my side.” My stomach twists. “Never.” He steps closer, the shadows bending around him like they’re drawn to his heat. “You will,” he whispers. “Tomorrow night. Under the full moon. When your magic peaks.” I shake my head violently. “No. I’m not going anywhere with you.” His smile widens, not kind, not cruel, just… inevitable. “You don’t understand yet,” he says. “But you will.” Brad reaches out a hand. “Soon, Raven,” he murmurs. “Very soon.” The world snaps like a rubber band

You need to return to your queen…” The words died on my lips as I watched his eyes fill with despair, Unfazed that I had just said I had seen the future. Gone were the black onyx eyes I had come to love so much and associate with him. Now I looked into new eyes, golden honey brown with flecks of a brighter gold. I feared the worse and couldn’t hide that fear “Your wolf?”

I’ve watched Back to the Future enough times to understand that knowing your future isn’t always the best. “Ally and I saw a lot of things when you accepted the invitation.” Adley admitted, tapping the tip of her acrylic against the wooden post on her bed. Her eyes were thoughtful, a look she had often. The times it crossed her face, it looked as though she weren’t here. Not entirely, anyway. “He was the one thing that remained the same. Always there, always watching as you fought your way through Iridian. Even in the bad futures…the ones where you didn’t make it, you weren’t alone. Even at the end, he was there during your final breaths.”

There were things that weren’t adding up–” “Future?” I say so quietly I’m not sure I said it out loud, but Blake looks right at me with those deep, starlit wells of violet lighting from within. What a freak. He is, I notice for the hundredth time, a very powerful man. A scary one. The only man, other than Alpha King Ryatt, I surmise, that I would… tread carefully around… if I were smarter. “You can see my future?” “A bit,” he replies with a shrug of one shoulder. “Your timeline is murky because Maeve has a fucking chokehold on you. She’s been shielding you with her powers for months–”

Suddenly, as I shift my eyes back to Raya again, I was surprised as she started to fade away as if she's being dusted, I worriedly asked, "Raya, what's happening? You're disappearing." "I don't have much time." Raya said as she reached out for my hand, she continued, "Do you dare find out the future?" I gulped hard and grabbed onto her hands. Just like that I saw the future. I saw it vividly and clearly. The future... where everyone is dead. I hold my breathe as I saw the horrors of the vision Raya gave me.

Riley's voice rang from the doorway as she stepped into the room, her hands on her waist. “What makes you believe so?” I asked. “Uhhh because I saw her future.” She bragged and I snapped up immediately. “Really?” I asked, holding onto her. “Yep,” She replied. “But there was something I didn't see clearly.” “What’s that?” “In my vision, Ruby did come back, but she didn't come back alone.” She said, her brows furrowed. “She’s going with Jace,” I said, poking her head. “No, not Jace.” She continued. “It was blurry, but I did see a light following her, which was why I couldn't picture who or what it was.”

(CHOICES) “I CAN’T STOP THE TIME AS I COULD NEVER TURN BACK WHAT HAS ALREADY ENDED, BUT ONE THING I AM SURE ABOUT, IN THIS FANTASY YOU WROTE, AND EVEN IF I DON’T EXIST IN YOUR REALITY, I, RYUU WILL FOREVER PROTECT YOU NO MATTER WHAT.”

I muttered, my mind reeling while my heart raced and my chest heaved. I fought to make sense of it all, but I couldn't. The thought of seeing the future felt unnatural and conflicted with my sense of free will. Ryder shrugged with uncertainty. "Maybe that's why it's blurry?" he went on pensively. I closed my eyes and shook my head once more, fighting through the waves of nausea that assaulted me. "Are you okay?" Ryder asked again, reaching out and resting his hand on my shoulder, his worry beginning to grow now.

Feeling a slight burn in her own eyes, she chose to avert her gaze, directing her attention to the floor beneath them. Caden posed his question, and although it wasn't mean-spirited or spiteful, it carried a profound depth. "Describe your future self as the opposite of what you'd want her to be." Ruby sighed deeply, contemplating her response. The question struck a chord within her, forcing her to confront her fears and uncertainties. After a moment of reflection, a smile graced her lips, though her gaze remained fixed on the ground. "I'm madly in love with a guy," she confessed softly, allowing her words to hang in the air, revealing a glimpse of vulnerability in her answer.
