“When did you get so wise to talk about people immersing themselves in social media as a temporary escape from their own lives?”
He shot me a look, rolling his forest-green eyes. “I do have a brain, and I do live in this century. Honestly.”
I chuckled around another bite and ate in silence as I pondered what he had said. “So you think I should just show up?”
“Wouldn’t be the first time,” Ryan said, then winced like he remembered something disgusting or painful. “Just don’t tell me whatever it is you do to help him through it, okay?”
I flipped him off, pursing my lips. “He’s grieving, asshole, as you pointed out. I’m not going over there to jump his bones.”
