Rafael said with a smile and they all stood up immediately to do as she’d asked. I was still trying to figure out who the hell she was and what kind of influence she had over my pack. I stood up from the table just as my phone started to ring and I looked at the number. It wasn’t a number I recognized and I answered the call as I walked back to my office. “Alpha Jericho?” The voice on the other side sounded shaky and scared. “Yes? Who is this?” I asked. “I’m a pack member under Alpha Whittaker and we were just attacked,” he said to me.

I replied in a low tone. “I know that, but my wolf doesn't know that when I am around you,” he paused and pulled the doorknob. “And I wouldn't know that when I fuck you,” He walked out, slamming the door and leaving utterly speechless. Who the hell is Ryker, the Lycan King?

Serafine’s POV How could Hope say Bran wasn't the one who spoke to me a while ago when he was clearly the one? When she mentioned Ryker, my brows pulled together in confusion. I was certain I had never heard that name before. Hope’s voice came again from the other side. “I know you’re confused by what I’m saying. But that’s because you probably haven’t heard the name Ryker before.” Of course I hadn’t. Who was Ryker? Hope continued speaking, “Ryker is Bran’s wolf. He has taken over Bran’s body.”

Derek fumed. "Get your hands off me," Ryker pushed Derek off, adjusting himself. "I'm not following the rules anymore. I have enough to help me get to wherever I want. Not only do I now own the eastern border of the Ocean Howls Pack, your pack is starting to crumble because I am now in possession of your major asset. The two most powerful packs are at the brink of crumbling to the ground. Do you think I still need your fuckin help? I have everything that I want now, Derek. she's the only thing left. She slammed. “Stop it!” Ryker cried, getting up from the floor. “I need help, I need that shit off the internet!” He yelled. There was sheer silence in the room. Mrs Clyde sighed and walked over to the windows. “I'll grant an interview with the press,” she revealed. Sasha's eyes widened. “And how do you intend to clear our name off this?” Ryker asked. “I’ve got that,” she revealed with a smirk. Sasha swallowed hard. “ I just want all that shit down from the internet,” Ryker cried.

Chloe Jane is asleep in the other room, and I’m here, trying to piece together this fucked-up puzzle. As Ryker raises his hand for another strike, a call interrupts him. He glances at his phone, irritation flashing across his face, but he answers it. His usual composure is frayed at the edges, his agitation clear in every word. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” he asks, his annoyance thinly veiled. Then he looks at me and mouths the only word that could get him this riled up. Fenriz. I can only imagine what the Lycan Alpha is telling him, but whatever it is, it’s not good. There’s a pause as Fenriz speaks, and I watch Ryker’s expression shift from irritation to confusion.

But as I raised my eyes from the piece of paper in my hands, I met the real Ryker. And then it dawned on me. He was a cruel man. This was probably just his way of punishing me and ruining my life for what we did. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes and I tried to reason with him. Maybe he would understand and let me go. "But you have a lover. Why do you need me to go into a marriage contract with you?" I cried out. Ryker adjusted his coat and looked straight into my eyes without a single drop of emotion, he said; "You are right. I do have a lover and her name is indeed Willow but she is in a coma now. So, I need someone to be Luna temporarily."

In exchange, I will be the perfect, obedient Luna until you secure your inheritance. Ryker looked at me for a long moment, which felt like forever. I thought he was going to kill me. I thought he was going to laugh right in my face. Slowly a smirk crept onto his lips. It was not a pleasant one. It was wicked and dark and promised trouble. He set down his glass on the tray of a moving waiter. "You are right, little mouse," Ryker's thunderous voice carried across the room, which had become eerily quiet. "Actually, I do need a wife."

“I’m an orphan.” Ryker swiftly uttered, “I’m sorry to hear that. “I’ll burn your money.” “I’m broke.” “I’ll kill your lover!” “He’s gone too. Recently.” Ryker was taken aback. “You have no money, no family, no partner. What do you live for?” I shuffled Ryker’s fluffy hair, just like I would with a puppy. “I have my herd, my vegetable patch, and my harvested grains. “Oh, and you.” Ryker’s breath hitched. A never-before sensation coursed through his veins, jump-starting his long-dormant heart.

They were currently in the main office, downstairs. Ryker took the seat and flipped open the folder. He had been the one guiding her on how things worked, teaching her and showing her so many other things since Bryan and Aiden went on their business trip. Kira was genuinely grateful for his support and help, she truly wanted to do good.
