Nysera: The Goddess of Secrets Volume I – The Forgotten Goddess Chapter 15: The Reunion Nysera stood frozen. The growl came again: low, familiar, impossible. Her fingers tightened around the enormous obsidian egg pressed against her chest as she slowly turned toward the sound. Something moved between the ruined pillars—a shadow, tall and broad, its eyes burning crimson through the darkness. Nysera's breath caught. "...Umbra?" The creature stepped into the faint glow of the Abyssal crystals. Nysera stared. For several heartbeats, she couldn't move.

All she remembered after seeing his corpse is her scream that echoed throughout the village. Saiya closed her eyes to forget that painful night and to get some rest. But then again, she saw herself in Azul's prison. She could not help but smile bitterly when she saw an empty throne. They may not have a good relationship but he was still the person who stopped her from killing herself. He was still the person who taught him how to be brave and to fight for herself. He is still the person who gave her the strength to keep going on despite everything. And lastly, he's the person who kept her alive during the attack from the Maelie Empire and it cost him to lose his existence in both realms.

My eyelids try to close with all their might, but I resist and slowly manage to open them, although everything is blurry, I see that I am on the ground, lying. When I close and reopen them, Azael's face appears in front of me, watching me with a frown, with his piercings and his black shirt through which his tattoos peek out and spread across his neck. But when I blink again, there is no sign of him. As if it was part of my imagination.

Jennifer seemed to be having a field day, and my world stopped, but I couldn't bring myself to believe her. How could Athena be a witch? And not just that—she was chosen by the goddess. It was like having two death sentences in one because even if she were a pure Lycan, we could never be together. She was supposed to spend the rest of her life serving and dedicating herself to the goddess. I doubted Jennifer's revelation at first. Something inside me snapped, and I started laughing hard and loud. She looked at me like I was crazy. "You're desperate, but Athena would never lie. Give up already; desperation doesn't look good on you."

“Gineth’s friend! Just say, hi!” Gineth laughed, but the person on the other end scowled. His gaze lingered on the screen. I bit my lip as he continued to scrutinize me. It felt like he was sucking me into the screen. I waved and smiled, but the guy just gave a tight-lipped response. “Why would I say hi? I don’t know her,” he said in a cold and deep voice. We exchanged glances with Neth. She raised an eyebrow as she removed the screen from me. “Why so cold, Calix? She’s Athena! She’s my relative!” Neth said with a laugh.

Just when I thought I was winning, Xavier pushed me back harder till I landed on the ground heating my head. Nyx winced in pain blood sizzling down. *You think you are strong huh?” His voice was loud in my head. I growled as his claws scratched my fur. Nyx snared in pain trying to fight back but his grip was tight. “You are no Enigma… Once an Omega always an Omega, don’t you ever forget that.” His canines sunk into my throat, Nyx howling in pain as everything started fading. "Sage..." I whispered as though I could feel him but couldn’t tell.

I yelled at her, my heart beating so fast that it would pop out any moment. "You saw?" She asked, chuckling. "What sa- WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT?!!!! HOW?!" "I told ya, you'll develop a potus soon. You could have it since birth only if you weren't a halfling. There are many more powers in you which you have to explore yet, that was not even a bit of your powers." She said, looking at me with unreadable emotional eyes." You're a satangel's daughter Athena, your mother's a complete satangel unlike your second mum, Bethany. And I'm a complete satangel"

she was awakening. I watched as the fading mark on her neck completely disappeared and her once flattened and lifeless body became alive. I held my non-existent breath before her once closed eyes sharply opened and I was met with bright red, hungry orbs. There was a split second of silence before I let out a smile at the sight of my Aphrodite awake, "Abigor," she spoke and I saw her fangs extend as she returned my smile. "Look what I have for you," I held up the babe and walked around the bed. Aphrodite sat upright as she looked at the babe and I placed the babe in her arms.

There were some things that had to happen the way that they did or else everything would have changed but not in our favor. I had to wait until she saw those flashes before I could come forward and lead the charge. Selene named me Athena, after the Goddess of Warfare, for more reasons than my strategist abilities and mindset. The easiest way to explain it was that Selene was given the blueprint for me from the Goddess Athena. I was crafted to be a strong warrior, one who had the ability to strategize as well as the ability to be a savage and ruthless fighter on the battlefield.

She will not let him do it again and take the only mother figure present in her life again! Athena wowed before getting up from her place. “Athena, wait what are you—” she ignored Xavier's call before marching forward and letting her instincts take over. Athena stood at the precipice of her power. The weight of loss and the specter of impending doom hung heavy upon her shoulders, a burden borne of love and sacrifice. With a resolve tempered in the crucible of war, she beckoned to the depths of her essence, her spirit a beacon of defiance amidst the encroaching darkness.
