It almost looked like water frozen in place. In front of the mirror stood a single wooden chair. My stomach tightened when I saw it. Athena’s voice was calm. That is the doorway. The seer stood beside the mirror. Her silver hair was braided down her back. In her hands, she held several small glass vials filled with colored liquids; blue, silver and deep violet. Kayden’s fingers intertwined with mine. “Stay with me,” he murmured. “I will.” The seer stepped forward. “Leah,” she said gently. “Come closer.”

Together they stood like mirrored death and life, ancient and terrifying. “We are Eirava and Zethra,” they spoke in unison, “Guardians of Blood and Bone, bound to Shadow.” A rumble of thunder followed as Athena appeared in Chelsea, her body woven from vines, stone, and crackling arcs of lightning. Her hair flowed like wild branches, eyes glowing like twin storms. “I am Athena,” she said, her voice low but commanding. “Guardian of Balance, bound to Storm and Earth.” Then came Margaret, the dragon spirit cloaked in dark scales and golden eyes, curling protectively around Tora’s flame. Her voice carried the weight of mountains and the heat of fire-forged steel.

Rose spat. Another figure stepped beside her. The crowd murmured louder. Princess Athena. Daughter of a royal house. Sebastian’s childhood sweetheart. Once considered the strongest contender in the Luna Trials. Her eyes were icy. Almost bursting with controlled rage. She hadn’t uttered a single word throughout the drama until now. But now, she stepped forward with purpose. “This entire trial has been manipulated,” Athena said. “By sentiment. By magic. Not merit.” “Do you question the Crystal of Truth?” Sebastian asked coolly, rising to his full height once more.

She has bright golden eyes, and sharp wings like her father. She flaps her wings at me, the wind blowing my hair around. I laugh while smiling up at her, so proud of my baby girl. “You’re beautiful!” I yelled out to her, her dragon’s eyes shining at my words. She turns around before trying to catch up with her father and brother. Leaving Juniper and Athena to shift. Juniper holds Athena’s hand while they wait together. Her eyes closed as if she was praying to the goddess. Athena gasps as she lets go of Juniper’s hand, falling to her knees as her shift starts to take over.

Can't let that hesitation get in my way. Athena stretched her hand out towards her katana. It moved on it's own accord and rested firmly in her grip. I tried not to let my surprise show as she literally summoned the weapon to herself like it's nothing. Her glowing eyes were a telltale sign that she was still in Cara's head. Cara's eyes had the same white glow. I'm going to take Athena out first. Cara would be a piece of cake then. "Let's double up this attack, shall we?" Athena smirked.

RACHAEL'S POV Athena's eyes blazed with anger, having overheard our conversation about the moon goddess choosing a mate for Alpha Axel. Athena's presence was commanding, her fiery spirit evident in every step she took. The queen approached Athena, her gaze steady and unwavering. With a firm yet gentle touch, the queen held Athena's chin, forcing her to meet her eyes. "Athena, my dear, you must calm yourself," she said, her voice filled with a mix of authority and compassion. "Even if you won't be my daughter, you will always hold a special place in my heart."

The very air around her seemed to shimmer with the power of the heavens. "I am Athena," she said, her voice deep and commanding, echoing through the tomb like a thunderclap. Alex and Neela’s jaws almost dropped to the ground from shock after seeing just a few seconds of the battle. Athan was just too strong. As expected from the goddess of war from the Greeks. Neela was Alex’s maid and contracted pet, so it was only natural that she needed to stay close to him.

But all eyes landed eventually on Serena. She did not walk like someone victorious. She walked like someone carrying a story far heavier than victory. Atheira descended from the Council Tower slowly, her robes lighter than usual, her hands bare. “You’ve returned,” she said, stepping before Serena. “We have,” Serena replied softly. “And with what we were meant to find.”
