Where do we even begin?” Sandra was already typing on her phone. “I know someone. A guy. He used to do shady work and comes out clean. He’s quiet now but still knows people.” “Is he... trustworthy?”

“Boss, I will do everything I can, I promise." I nodded at him, I trusted Zayne. I knew he would never betray me, so he wasn't even on my watch list. “There's something else, Boss." Great. More bad news. “Sander is dead. Car accident, up on the highway." What the fuck- then it suddenly hit me. The accident that had held me up on my way to the docks last night, that was Sanders. Sandra rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath, “Newbies should keep their mouths shut.” Victor finally puts his arms down, his voice calm but low, as though he were weighing every word. “Doesn’t matter what we think. He’s back. And you can see it already… he and Pascal are going to clash. The real question is, whose side will Christiana stand on?” That silenced them. For a moment, even Sandra bit her tongue, though the fury in her eyes only burned brighter as she muttered under her breath, “She always gets everything.”

Lucas felt slightly speechless. Why did people always mistake him for a Dark Race? He was clearly not a Dark Race. "You haven’t answered my question yet," Lucas said mildly, looking at Sandy. Sandy swallowed her saliva after hearing what he said. Overwhelmed with horror, she said to Lucas, "My name is Sandy Sandford, and she is my sister, Cindy Sandford." At this very moment, she had no choice but to compromise. She and Cindy did not have any access to any form of help right now. She simply hoped that this man from the Dark Race would not try to kill them, or they would stand no chance of survival.

"You know Sandra if you weren't a girl, you'd be full of bruises right now. Good thing my mom raised me right." Drake rumbled while closing his eyes relishing the compliment he gave himself.

The fireworks were over. “You might have won this time, but I’m not finished with you,” Sandy hissed, leaning in close to me. Her eyes were venomous. “I won’t stop until I catch you, because I know you’re up to something. And when I do?” Sandy grinned. “I’ll make you pay, bitch.” “Excuse me.” We both whirled around to see Ronan standing beside us, face unreadable. “I’m sure this conversation is riveting, but we have begun work hours.” He looked down at the expensive watch on his wrist, then back up at Sandy.

Damien continued, "But what if you could let go of that pain and find someone who genuinely cares for you? Someone like me." Sandra's eyes shot up, a mixture of surprise and disbelief written across her face. The room, once filled with the echoes of her cries, now carried the tension of an unexpected proposition. "You don't understand," Sandra replied, her voice laced with defiance. Damien took a step closer, his eyes holding a sincerity that resonated with genuine concern. "Maybe I do understand more than you think," he responded, gesturing towards the cup of tea as an offering of comfort.
