The romance would be a reluctant byproduct of that perfect synergy.

It would have to be slow-burn, almost clinical in how it charts their tactical adjustments until the moment they realize their haki is literally synchronizing. That kind of functional, high-stakes intimacy feels far more true to their characters than any generic polyamorous fluff.
