--- (Sarah's POV) I knocked softly on the familiar apartment door, my hands gripping the bag of coffee cups I’d brought from the café just outside the clinic. It was supposed to be our usual morning routine—Aria and me chatting over coffee before either of us faced whatever the day would throw at us. But something felt off today. I couldn’t shake the heaviness in my chest. “Aria?” I called, my knuckles rapping against the wooden door. “It’s me, Sarah. Open up.” Silence greeted me. I frowned, my wolf stirring uneasily. She was always quiet, but this… this wasn’t normal.

“June, stop! He’s lying!” June paused, her hand halfway through the melting glass. “What are you talking about, Mom?” “The Oven-Maker isn’t dying because it needs a heart!” Sarah cried, holding up the glowing gold book. Its pages shone with a dark, oily light. “Something’s eating it from the inside! There’s something else down there—something the Foundation didn’t make!” The man’s faceless head swung toward Sarah. The white light turned sharp and angry, burning red. “You shouldn’t have read that book,” he snarled. The kindness vanished from his voice.

In half, she fragmented beyond recovery. "Talk to us," Dimitri urged, his earthwise senses tracking her shifting energy. "What are you feeling?" "Everything. Everywhere." Sarah laughed, the sound echoing from places that didn't exist. "I'm standing here, but I'm also in the Void, the divine realm, the shadow lands, the echo dimensions, the spaces between thoughts." She looked up when we entered, and her expression shifted from neutral to intensely interested the moment she saw me. "Well," she said, setting down the mortar. "Jax's lady. I've been wondering when you'd come to see me."
