Her eyes flickered back to the first aid kit still open on the table, a small smile tugging at her lips.
He had let her take care of him.
That meant something.
The sound of the shower stopped.
Mona's heart did a small, unnecessary jump.
A few seconds later, the bathroom door opened.
And there he was.
Kane stepped out, a towel slung low around his waist, his hair damp, droplets of water tracing slow paths down his chest. The harshness from earlier had softened slightly, but the intensity hadn't gone anywhere.
It never did.
Mona blinked once.
