Before Sang-woo could react, Lazarus spread his arms wide. His blood seeped into the stone, glowing with a sickly crimson light. The ground shook violently, and the walls pulsed as if the chamber itself were alive.
The shadows around them screamed and convulsed, their shapes twisting into something larger, darker, more grotesque. Their jaws stretched open unnaturally, claws elongating until they scraped the stone floor.
Soo-ah stumbled backward, clutching her wounded arm. Her eyes widened in horror. “They’re… evolving.”
