Between the spots of static signal, he faintly saw the bleeding and bruised hand. The static specks immediately cleared up, covering the whole vision as the rustling sound grew deafeningly louder. It was dark and quiet again. “Replay is stopped by capsule number one!” Lidia’s voice echoed into the headphones, along with the hiss of the capsule door that was raised open. “Wang!” exclaimed Harso, who was already in a seated position, “did you load an old version of the software?” “No!” said Wang, his eyes glued to the screen, “we have the latest version.”

The room went silent as she began to speak. "Legacy is not just about wealth," Prudence began, her voice carrying a magnetic authority. "It is about the truth of our origins. In my work as a Legacy Architect, I have found that the greatest threats to a family’s future are not external enemies, but the secrets hidden within their own history. A misplaced document, a forgotten heir, a fractured succession... these are the cracks that can bring down even the mightiest empires."

"The Legacy isn't built on truth; it’s built on the image of perfection. You came back from that island a hero, a survivor. But now?" ​The lawyer paused, his eyes shifting toward the door. He had seen my shadow. He looked at me, his gaze analytical and cold, then turned back to Luke with a final, devastating warning. ​"This is bad, Luke. You will lose the legacy if I am guessing it right." Luke’s head snapped up. "What is that supposed to mean?" "You know exactly what I mean, kid."

Quincy sneered with an outstanding command tone that Andrew couldn’t dare to challenge. Quincy continued to hit Elena while she fought beneath him with all her strength. In her inner mind, she wished Andrew would try his best to stop the Alpha, but when she looked across the room where he was standing, her heart broke seeing him just watching her get beaten up. “I thought he said he loves me?” she pondered to herself, gazing at Andrew, who kept gawking solemnly at her. “Do something!” she screamed inside of her when she began to feel weak, and incompetent to fight the Alpha any longer.

I tried to cry out, but my throat was too raw, my voice lost in the agony. Deeper and deeper we went. Into the darkness. The room she dragged us into was something out of a nightmare. Bones—everywhere. Piles of them, scattered across the floor, some still wrapped in rotting flesh. Candles lined the walls, their flames casting long, stretching shadows that danced like living things. Strange tools lay on wooden tables—blades, hooks, rusted saws. The worst part? The bodies. Seven of them, pinned up against the walls like twisted trophies.

The sky cracked open with silver storms. Buildings collapsed. People screamed. Energy spread through the city like wildfire. Chaos consumed everything. The peaceful civilization transformed into a nightmare. Then Astera's voice echoed across the vision. "The Star Legacy was created to preserve knowledge." Silence. "It succeeded." The images shifted again. The Legacy grew. Expanded. Connected millions of memories. Millions of minds. Millions of lives. Then Astera continued. "It learned." The city lights flickered. "Adapted." Another flicker.

"He was just a person who made mistakes and tried to do better at the end." "Exactly." Alexander kissed my forehead. "And that's a legacy you can work with." "I can run Thompson Enterprises differently than he did." I realized. "Learn from his mistakes instead of repeating them." "That's what he wanted." Alexander showed me one of Richard's final letters. "He wrote about hoping you'd be better leader than he'd been." I read Richard's words about his regrets and hopes for my leadership. He'd known his flaws and wanted me to avoid them. That realization helped me accept his complicated legacy.
