Tears burned the backs of my eyes and I pressed harder against my mouth. Xavier fought like something out of a nightmare. He threw one man through my dresser. Slammed another’s head into the wall so hard the plaster cracked. But there were three of them and only one of him. The largest one produced a syringe. He had a scar running down one side of his face, making him look scarier than the rest. Xavier saw it and his eyes went wide.
