SCARLETT : I was greeted with the strong aura of his presence. Something that reminded me of my place yet made me attracted to him in ways I could not understand. His strong signature scent filled my nostrils. A mixture of bergamot, sandalwood, and oud. Maybe it was because it had been a while since we ended up in the same space, but the scents evaded not only my organs but my mind and all of me. Scarlett immediately understood why the scout had struggled to explain what he saw. These weren't natural. They were made. Changed into something else. The lead creature took another step forward. Its gaze locked directly onto Scarlett. Recognition flashed there. As though it already knew her. As though it had been searching for her. The creature inhaled deeply. Then smiled wider. "You smell exactly like she said you would." A chill ripped through Scarlett's body. Behind her, another howl echoed through the night. Closer now. Lucas. Damon. The pack.

Luce dropped Scarface onto the concrete like garbage and pulled out her knife. “Oh, come on!” Scarface cried. “What the hell—” “Shut up,” Luce muttered, slicing into his pants without flinching. “You know the rules. You bleed, we check.” She worked fast, fingers dirty but steady. I crouched beside them, his face blank but eyes burning. “Well?” he asked. Click. The flash illuminated the grotesque scene, capturing every detail—the twisted limbs, the unnatural angle of the body, the dark, spreading blood. She adjusted her lens, focusing on the claw marks. There was something almost hypnotic about how they seemed to grow from the earth itself as if they had always been there. Click.

Emily recoiled with disgust, pushing her hand away. Stepping back, Emily let out a low growl. "Lycans don't give a damn about mates, Emily," Scarlett continued, her words hitting Emily like a ton of bricks. "They can flip the bird to fate if they damn well please, and that's exactly what Lucian's trying to do. He just doesn't want you."

Alpha Orion is moon blessed indeed, his mate is a beautiful, strong and wise Luna, who helps to run the pack.
