Sandra recognized it instantly, and a smile tugged at her lips despite her earlier fright. “Why did you scare me like that?” she scolded, though her tone held no real anger. The man chuckled, his laughter warm and reassuring. “My sweet Luna,” the other Lycan chimed in, his voice softer but no less commanding. “You don’t need to be afraid. We’re always here to protect you.”

“You. Son. Of. A. Bitch…” Every breath felt like fire. Marcus had just signed his own death warrant. There was a loud crash inside, Rockan’s fury erupting so violently the very air vibrated. Lyra gasped fear, pain, something else. Then Silence. Heavy. Suffocating. Deadly. My pulse thrummed in my ears as I positioned myself directly outside the shed. I could hear Marcus’ ragged breathing, Rockan’s boots scraping against the floor, Lyra’s heart racing in terrified rhythms.

It was a physical weight on Laila’s mind, a screeching agony that made her vision blur and her knees buckle. Kaden roared in pain, his hands flying to his ears as he collapsed against the wall. The addictive song repeated again and again, filling the air in the collection room.

On the fourth clap, the door falls to the ground, and Jaxon snarls viciously, as does Joshua.

Kaelen roared. He charged the clone. The boy didn't move. He didn't flinch. He just pressed a button on his cane. A high-pitched whine filled the arena. Kaelen stopped. He grabbed his head. Kaelen writhed in the mud. Blood began to pour from his ears.
