Scarlett said, her voice dead. Leo let out a roar of pure frustration and grabbed the last bottle of fine scotch on the table—the only thing of value they'd been allowed to take—and hurled it against the concrete wall. Amber liquid and shattered glass sprayed across the floor. Scarlett watched, her expression unreadable. Then, she quietly slipped her phone from her pocket. She moved to the far corner of the warehouse and dialed an encrypted number.

It was far too quiet, and that allowed everyone a moment of respite. Slightly confused, Nightmare lowered his weapon and looked around. Without warning, the wall in front of them burst open. A shaped sonic blast ripped through the wood and ferrocrete like it was made of foam. The sonic blast had also struck everyone inside, who were immediately dazed. Their minds spun as their sense of balance was completely shattered. Unable to tell left from right or up from down, they stumbled around as the dust settled. Eva and a handful of the Seven burst into the room and quickly disabled the thugs with merciless precision and brutal strikes. The thugs stood no chance.

The man didn't even have time to scream before he was thrown twenty feet backward, his body slamming into a stack of pallets with a sickening thud. I turned back to Silas. He was on one knee, his face contorted in pain from the sonic pulse. I grabbed his hand, interlacing our fingers, and felt the raw, jagged power of his beast looking for a way out. "Give it to me, Silas!" I shouted over the whine of the machines. "Push it through the link! Now!" Silas opened the floodgates. The power hit me like a physical punch to the gut, but I didn't let it knock me down. I channeled it outward. I raised my free hand, my palm facing the ceiling where the sonic dampeners were mounted.

She closed her eyes, whimpering as she fought herself for control. She suddenly went calm. Her eyes morphed into a glowing white as she opened them. The following second, she screamed. Soon as her scream exploded through the place, a heavy windstorm like a hurricane engulfed the place, the rain lashing down heavily, causing a flood. Every creature who heard the sound exploded like there was a time bomb on them. Standing structures and trees began crumbling as the storm grew, carrying things through the wind. Creatures and things were affected by the sonic effect, but never the people with the NC device. The sonic effect skipped everyone who wore the device, including KR members.

"Lottie, it's just us here. The tent's zipped up, totally safe." Russell Odom's voice was smooth and suggestive as he wrapped his arms around me, his fingers brushing at my clothes. The eardrums of Kai and Terence, who were fleeing for their lives, were crushed by the quake, and they bled profusely from their noses. “Ahh!” they cried as they curled up on the ground hugging their heads and convulsing involuntarily. Kayson had added a touch of mind expansion in the Titanium Leo-roar, so the soundwave attack had basically shaken Kai and Terence into fools.
