He releases his grip on my mouth and forcefully spins me around to face him. This man is nothing like Thomas. His eyes are a deep shade of brown, and a scar runs across one of his eyebrows. His hand is grimy and covered in black grime, slicked back by natural grease, and I can detect the lingering smell of smoke on his breath. I glance over his shoulder and spot Dale standing there, offering me a smile accompanied by a gentle wave of his finger.

Jake left the basketball court very pissed. He needed somewhere to blow the heat off. He asked his underlings to bring a boy he usually bully to the back of the class. He waited there for two minutes and Charles, a timid need, was dragged in. Charles is in class B the same final year as Jake but has a disability. He can’t hear and see properly so he uses hearing aids and glasses. Jake walks up to his underlings and kicks them. ‘What took you so damn long!’

He was in his usual black suit and white dress shirt. Charles was a huge man in his forties, a former top agent of the CIA, with an excellent record to his badge. He was an expert killer, swift with a pistol and a dagger. He joined the cartel when he discovered the rot in the organization, pledging his allegiance to Mama and the cartel. With Charles on his six, Shawn had nothing to worry about. "Who is he?" Caroline asked, her tone careful. Holding out the bag to Shawn, he narrowed his eyes at Caroline, wrapped in the beddings. "You want me to take care of her?"

I refuse to be taken again. “Hello, Jessica.” A deep voice says from behind me. I whirl around, my right hand flying to my throat as I stare at him … the very reason for the nightmare I had just had. I relax a bit as soon as I see his tall frame, but from the way he is looking at me, he can probably tell that he has scared me very badly. “I’m sorry for scaring you. I didn’t mean to.” Charles says, looking like he meant it. I stare at him with ill-concealed hatred, his apology not appeasing me in the slightest.

His cheeks were flushed red since they discussed how young a Charisa Davis was. "You will have to tell us tomorrow how the seventeen year old teenager feels, bro!" James teased, nudging Skandar's shoulder. If James’ behaviour was like that, Skandar might think James assumed him getting golden ticket if Skandar had a so young wife as Charisa. "Your mind is so dirty, James!" "Did you mean to ask me for representing you?" replied James hopefully. "Don’t hope it!" pushed a Skandar Hemingway directly, his wife was only for him.

“You’re the one locked up but you’re worried about Sienna? She’s unharmed, don’t worry. I just managed to swipe her phone.” I recognized the voice instantly but I didn’t want to believe it. There were grades to being evil and I refused to believe that he could do this. He was probably just trying to scare me. I knew he was crazy but not this crazy. “Alright then, you’ve scared me, you can let me go now. I’ve taken your threat to heart. Untie me and let this end.” The door opened and Charles walked in. “Who ever said that this was to scare you?”

I have this rare opportunity to meet him before he’s whisked away. I made sure to explain my theory about Charles and why I suspect he might be behind all the chaos, even though he’s behind bars. Despite his incarceration, he has a network of people around Chicago who could still be working for him. Plus, his younger brother, James Smirnov, is absolutely furious with both Richie and me. It’s clear he harbors a strong hatred toward us, which I believe stems from the fact that Charles ended up in jail because of my actions and because of the death of his older brother, which was caused by Calista, who is related to Richie.

He took off his suit and put it on the hanger by the side of the door, then rolled up his sleeves before sitting on his chair. “Please have your seat.” Rowan gestured towards the chair opposite him. Charles sat down gingerly, his heart pounding heavily in fear. As he had only ever been in Rowan presence once while he was being hired, this time was different as he didn’t have any idea on what was happening. “Have you heard of PJ Brand?” Rowan asked. “Yes, I have.” Charles replied. “What do you think of them?” “I think they’re doing pretty well, but I don’t think they’re necessarily clean.” Charles said truthfully.

“To continue our war against John Edison before everything collapses.” He ended the call abruptly. The phone barely left his hand before he dialed another number. Shawn McCart answered on the second ring. “Yes?” “Are you watching the news right now?” James demanded. “Yes.” A tense silence followed. James exhaled slowly. “Charles has just declared war.” “I know,” Shawn replied grimly. “We need him gone tonight.” James didn’t hesitate. “Send Star’s replacement.” “Who?” “Harper Jones.” The line went quiet. Then Shawn answered.
