“I was sorting it all out still, but I had a better idea then than I had before.”
“What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever manifested?” Kayla asked.
“A unicorn,” I said. Their eyes bulged. I heard Mage Jaye make a noise in the back of her throat and said, “No one told me we weren’t supposed to make mythical creatures.” I didn’t tell them that I also made a griffin, but then, that was gone now. As far as I knew, my unicorn, Pearl, was still safe and sound in her barn in the forest. I knew that the rest of my pack would check on her for me. Surely, they would’ve let me know if anything had happened to her.
