Sylvania looked up at Kamala. “Thank you, Kamala. That means more to me than you know.”
Sylvania hesitated, her voice trembling slightly as she asked, “Kamala, what do you think those mobsters could be doing with Coco, if he’s still alive? I can’t stop thinking about it.”
Kamala leaned back, she looked serious but calm. “One possibility,” she began, “is drug trafficking. Some people use dogs to smuggle drugs. It’s a horrible practice, but it happens. They could hide small packages inside a dog’s stomach.”
