Even the home Nathan and I had shared as Luna and Alpha of the Moonbeam Pack couldn’t compare to this. A tight knot twisted in my stomach at the thought of Nathan. I pushed the memory of him aside, forcing myself to focus on the present. I followed the sound of voices down the hall and approached a large, open room; the heat of a conversation caught my attention. “You need to stop running from this, Favian!” An older man’s voice said, firm and impatient. “You are the Alpha of the Furbloom Pack. It’s time for you to take a mate.” I stopped in my tracks, my breath catching in my throat. The Furbloom Pack?

“That Scar Icegard is your mate. The same one that was stolen from his family years ago. The same one that was stolen from you years ago.” Tears flood my vision, distorting everything. I sway again, the paper slipping from my fingers and fluttering to the floor. My hands fly to my head, gripping tightly, like I can hold the world together if I just press hard enough. How is this possible? How is he here? How did this all happen? Scar, a werewolf? A vampire? How? “Scar is a werewolf?” I ask, confusion choking the words as a sob claws its way up my throat.

“And…” The rest of my words died in my throat as I found myself gazing into his eyes. I was so caught up in how mesmerizing they were that I didn't realize Xander’s hand on my waist. Shock waves jolted me out of my trance and I flinched. I pressed my eyes shut as unpleasant memories flooded my mind I tried to push them back, but no matter how hard I tried, they came back in ten folds. I honestly thought I'd forgotten them, but apparently they were just suppressed. Memories of me being sexual assaulted by Alpha Lucas flooded my mind.

They stared at each other, with Jaxon clenching his fists while Astra's nostrils flared. "Aaaaah!" Scarlett screamed, breaking the staredown between the warlock and her mate. The contractions became stronger within minutes and closer apart, making it hard for Scarlett to be coherent. She could feel nausea crawling around while her vision blurred all together. Scarlett's claws began to extend as she held on to Jaxon's wrist, breaking his skin.

"An old farmhouse on the edge of the Silver Haven perimeter. It’s shielded. Your mates won't find you here, though not for lack of trying. Skylar and Tyler are currently tearing the Eclipsera woods apart tree by tree." She didn't look up from the apple. The mention of their names sent a spike of agony through me. I remembered the feeling of Marcus’s life force sliding down my throat like nectar. I remembered the gray, lifeless look in his eyes. "Don't come near me," I warned, backing away until my spine hit the headboard of the dusty bed. "I’m a Siphon. I’ll... I’ll drain you. I can't stop it. I’m a monster."

Lisa asks, losing her Luna tone. "It will hurt both of us. But honestly, Lisa, my wolf can not take much more of this either," I whisper. She nods and gives me a quick hug. "Let's go give him hell for ignoring you then," she says, winning a bright smile from me. SCOTT POV The hickies on Moira's neck are a punch to my gut. I have been unable to even think of another girl since I felt the pull to her. But she is moving on. Moving on just like Amanda had after her mate had rejected her.

“What date was he born?” “Twenty eighth.” Quinn giggled and shook her head. “Oh, no…that explains everything about him…he’s a Scorpio!” “And?” He leaned away from her to look at her with a raised eyebrow. “What can I say about Scorpio…?” Quinn twisted her mouth into a sultry little pout making Cory scowl. “Oh, let me guess…they’re great lovers?” He hissed under his breath as the movie started and the lights went out. Quinn giggled behind her hand. “Amongst other things…they are pretty narcissistic people, psychopathic almost…possessive and over protective.”
