I wish it were you

I wish it were you

The private investigator teased, “Mr. Nichols, this is the first time I’m doing a reward hunt for a girlfriend.” Scott gave a bitter smile. “I never imagined I’d have to find her this way.” Mr. Grant laughed and said, “Don’t worry, little brother. With my years of experience in society, your little girlfriend hasn’t gotten into too much trouble, and she hasn’t run too far. I’ll probably find her soon. When I do, I’ll use this reward to open another hotel chain.” Scott’s face darkened. “The way you’re talking doesn’t sound like years of experience in society. It sounds more like you’re a fortune-teller who understands yin and yang.”

Her Forbidden Deal With The Billionaire

Her Forbidden Deal With The Billionaire

Paul was waiting in the living room. "Paul. It's a relief to see you here on such short notice. How was the journey?" Paul smiled. "Mr. Hunter. It was an adventure. Pleased to see you too." "Please, sit." Scott gestured to the chair. Paul sat. "Now. What's this mystery case?" "It's not a mystery." Scott leaned forward. "I needed a lawyer, and I don't trust anyone in this town" "Understood." Scott was glad he didn't have to elaborate.

Alpha Scarlett

Alpha Scarlett

It’s then that we see two headlights heading our way. The car comes to stop about 15 feet from us and out come two human police detectives. One them I know. Scott Buckingham, a good-looking guy (well, good-looking as far as humans go) with deep brown eyes and light brown hair that always looks like he has bed head. Add to that his slightly crooked smile that shows off his perfectly arranged, white teeth and he has the kind of easy, all-American boy good looks that you’d expect to find in a movie about a high school football team. Except he’s no longer a high school student, instead he’s actually my age. The other guy, shorter and stockier than Scott but cute in his own way with reddish-brown

Regretting Divorce

Regretting Divorce

"I wanted to help the cops find Zara. You believe it or not but I admired Mrs MacIntyre. I've seen this man dressed in a hooded black coat walking with Zara here in this township. I thought that if I dressed like him and wandered around the crime scenes and places she summoned Hunter at, the factory for example, she might mistake me for him and come to me, and then I'll catch her and turn her in. It's stupid but it did seem like a good plan to me.... So you see, I bought the exact same long hooded black coat and a mask." "That day Zara called Hunter to come to the factory, I heard about it from Shawn since his brother was there. I still wished to help catch Zara so I followed your troop stea

My Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor

My Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor

Scott stated. Everyone scrambled from their seats, hurrying out of the room. Everything about Travis had always triggered Scott, a fact that had remained hidden since they were in opposite industries. Now that Travis had moved into the medical technology field, Scott could hardly get a day of rest. “You are not going to win this round like every other one, Ashford, not if I have anything to say about it.” Scott mumbled in a hard voice as he turned to stare at the city. “Mr. Cavanade?” Someone called behind him.

Nanny For The Alpha's Lost Twins

Nanny For The Alpha's Lost Twins

I just walked out. Now on the plane, I sat next to Sarah to keep Scott away while my half-brother worked a crossword and betrayed not a hint of concern. He did look up from time to time to smile at us and make comments about how good it was going to be to get home and how wonderful Malo had been to put him up while all “the unpleasantness” was going on. I informed Sarah of Scott’s strategy in low tones once we were in the air. “And Travis says there’s no paper trail to Scott at all?” she confirmed.

Murder on the Northwind Trail

It was a temporary one, just for the trip. There, on the screen, was a message timestamped 12:15 AM. Damon wrote, [Stay sharp. Once we get through the pass, we'll be in the clear. I'll drive the second half. If that girl's still out of it, just let her sleep through the whole thing. Can't expect her to be any help. She's dead weight.]

Revenge Becomes Her

Revenge Becomes Her

She looks like a mummy—a fragment of the person she used to be. The machine hooked up to her buzzing in a low tone is the only proof she’s still alive. MEANWHILE, on George Washington Bridge. Detective Scott, accompanied by Officer Arthur, got stuck in traffic. This incident added a whole layer of annoyance to him. “This forsaken, crowded city,” he muttered under his breath. Officer Arthur laughed but didn’t comment. He snickered as he lit a cigar, “I can’t believe someone will leak our case to the press.” He added annoyance written all over his face.

I love this book, as for the people who call the author sick or psychotic, I just want to say as a survivor of kidnapping, torture & r*pe, there are some chapters that do trigger me, bring back nightmares & terror. But I see Sherah climb out of hell &heal, so did I. This author is excellent 🤍🤍🤍

I got to chapter 82, feeling a familiarity the entire time I was reading the book. Finally saw this was the same author who penned "Goodbye My Love". Now I understand why I felt emotionally abused the entire time I was reading lmao. This author's works are NOT for the weak lol. But now I'm locked in

he grumbles. “Stand down, Scott, I come with good news and a proposition that I think you’re going to want to hear,” Harken says and raises his hands in defence. Scott scoffs in disbelief but steps away from the door and walks back to his desk. He takes a seat behind it and motions to one of the two leather seats in front. “Say what you need to say and leave quickly, I’m very busy thanks to you,” Scott says, barely looking at him. “Well, maybe what I’m here to say will help ease your burden. I can possibly help you take down a mob boss hiding out in Sierra Vista, who might have ties or rival connections with Ashton and his father. How does that sound?” Harken says with a smirk.

Yearning for My Friend's Dad

Yearning for My Friend's Dad

POV: Rory Scott and I woke up and readied ourselves for the day. Scott wore a double-breasted suit and wingtips. He looked handsome in his suit, but he had a heavy cough he couldn’t seem to get rid of. “Are you alright?” I asked as he rolled his bags out to the car and lifted them into the trunk. I adjusted the car seat to my height and changed the angles of the mirrors as Scott settled in the passenger seat. “I’m fine,” he said, still coughing.
