Murder, Rewind

Murder, Rewind

I realized that everything about this case–the background, the motive–was just fed to me through the police and the witness. A perfect loop. The killer knew that once I got to the station, I would try to dismantle the story. So he built it airtight. I took every piece of information I just heard and broke it down like components in a system, reconstructing it over and over in my mind. There had to be a single point–a central node where all the details intersected. That was where the truth was hidden. I lifted my head and scanned the crowd. Then my eyes lit up.

The mobster and the writer

The mobster and the writer

I shook my head and looked at Hunter. -Do not. He looked at me blankly. -No what? I raised my eyebrows as if it were obvious. -I refuse. I'm going to go to the police and get involved in witness protection. I pass these gangster rolls and shit like that. In the books it's super cool because it always ends well and the girl marries the mobster who leaves everything for her and blah blah blah, but look, I don't believe it. I'm a writer and I know that real life is nothing like that of books- I patted him on the shoulder and stood up- I'm sorry, but I'm going.

He waved a third set of papers in the air. “What is it?” “We found your client’s blood type and tire tracks at yet another murder scene.” Jones jammed a third set of copies against Scott’s chest. “Like I said, your boy certainly does get around. Don’t he?” WHEN SCOTT RETURNED, he sat across the table from me, loosened his tie, and began scanning what looked to be official documents. I slid the notepad toward him. “I wrote it all down. Everything.” “Good,” Scott mumbled, clearly distracted by the papers he held.

Between Heaven and Hell

Between Heaven and Hell

Tomoya asked, his voice a mix of surprise and disbelief. Takumi gave a subtle nod. “Jay informed me earlier. Ruby confirmed it, and now Junel,” he replied, his tone was deliberate and low. “At first, I suspected Scott. His transformation after Shane’s disappearance seemed too calculated, too coincidental. Then, his sudden eagerness to assist in the search for her following his relationship revelation with Jess only deepened the mystery. While I believe Scott is hiding something, I’m not convinced it’s as profound as he lets on. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been willing to take a bullet for Kathleen.” Takumi moved toward Samantha, his keen eyes noting the diminishing flow of the IV drip. With

"No story?" "I'll ask permission first." Deke frowned, then nodded. "I guess that's all I can ask of a reporter." "You talk about my profession with such disdain. You'll have to tell me why sometime. Right now, I want to know our current situation, and the plan." He cocked his head at her. "For someone in danger, you're awfully demanding." "I'm not going to be passive. It's not in my nature." He settled at the table, and she wiped her hands dry. "The man was murdered. He was the Assistant to the Governor of Pennsylvania—Tom Scott."

Gifted Shadows

Gifted Shadows

I spent every second wondering how I got here, how did I get so lucky. Well I quickly learned that Scott doesn't do anything without a hidden agenda, literally every move he makes has some kind of purpose. It may not be obvious at the time, but when he's ready to let you know, he will. So our second day there, he sent Tilly off to a spa and said, “I think you're ready.” Scott pulled out a file, a terrorist that he had been stalking for some time. He was hiding out in a village about an hour away. Next thing I knew we were in a car and on the way.

Loved this story. I wish their was a sequel. I wanted her with Fletch but Javi is just as amazing. Great story. Loved it talked about their hardships. Most importantly, for me, that she was a Black girl (biracial) trying to fit in and go through life.

“Who else have you told?” “I’m not a gossip, sweetheart.” Scott had kept me inside his tinted SUV for so long that the sun had set. The full moon was rising. Scott took a good twenty minutes to ramble about the moon’s superiority and how tonight was good night for a run because he could feel it in his bones. We dropped off Ellis first at some unknown location for her to be questioned. Scott wouldn’t tell me anything about her either. His lips were sealed, and it was killing me.

Murder Inquiry

But he decided against it, doing that would bring embarrassment to the bureau. And he remembered the maxim they had learnt at Quantico, which warns against actions that’s capable of embarrassing the bureau. “If you end the trip now, we would not pay you any money”Pat said. “I don’t care, all I want is for you to get out of my car” the driver said. “Vey well then” Pat said. They got out of the car, and the driver drove off. “I wonder what Hoover would have done, if he was in this kind of situation” Scott said.

Trapped in Love

Scott tightly gripped the steering wheel and pressed on the accelerator to follow them. He trailed behind them until they reached the entrance of The River Taste. A frown creased his face as he observed the constant stream of luxury cars arriving at the hotel. Scott wondered, 'Is there some sort of gala happening here tonight? I didn't receive any news about it.' Scott avoided eye contact and observed Caroline and Zeke exiting the car and walking toward the hotel entrance. Preparing to join them, he unfastened his seatbelt.

The story went well. The more you read deeper, the more you feel excitement because it was an interesting story. Sad to say it has no climax but finally ended the story. What moral do readers could get out of the story? Sa hinaba-haba ng story mapupunta lang pala sa wala! or baka nawala ang writer!...
