Curiosity won. Brushing aside branches and snapping twigs, he crawled closer. Then, there it was. A wolf. Large. Injured. Its body sprawled beneath a fallen limb, unconscious. The fur caught the light in an unusual way—white undercoat streaked with deep mahogany red, the color of mulberries in late summer. Atticus’ heart sank. His boots crushed pine needles as he approached slowly, hands careful, breath shallow. Guilt clawed at him. He’d already torn through part of this animal’s home—now he’d hurt it too.

, Tash appears before me and I run to him with the intent to kill. I hear Sasha gasp and then accompanied with a scream of pain. I spurn to run to Sasha before Tash holds me and throws me to the wall and thankfully I hit the shield protecting Tasha. My claws come out and Tash keeps a straight face and we run to each other and I swore to kill Tash and after I am done with Tash I will kill his brother, Tareem and his cousin, Taet.

He was shifting. In less than a minute, a white-furred wolf with a few ash furs by its side stood beside me. He growled at the rogue coming slowly towards us. Then he turned towards me, shaking his fur, and nudged his nose towards me in recognition. I smiled. “Good to see you like this look, man.” Grey surged forward, moving towards the rogue. Claws in the air, full speed, he lunged, scratching past the creature and then landed behind him. Perfect attack.

Kol as usual couldn’t help but be a bitch about it, so I am glad my efforts didn’t go to waste.” She adjusts herself on the bed so she is facing me. “I did research on the first wolf species and on The Ashcroft curse.” “The what?” I ask, not sure I have ever heard of such a thing as the Ashcroft curse. “You know, the whole thing about Kaeren and his brothers behaving like vamps and drinking blood and the whole thing about them not touching you? It’s because the Ashcroft bloodline is cursed.”

I think it'll be good for the pack to see their Alpha and Luna doing this together, especially if we are wanting to appear in love to them. Asher rips out of his baggy shorts, transforming into the most beautiful wolf I've ever seen. His fur is pitch black with a snow-white streak going from his chest, up over his head and finishing at the tail. I've never seen a coat like it; I'm in awe.

He looked so beautiful with dim moonlight falling over his thick black coat that I had a strong urge to stroke his soft fur. His head was tall, up in the sky while his eyes were fixed on the water falling in front of him. Though he was sitting, still his stern expressions and attentive posture told he was ready to jump on any danger coming his way. For a moment I thought it was Ash because his wolf was the same as the one in front of my eyes but he had a hint of blue shine in his fur which told me it was someone else. Ash wolf, Blaze is jet black in colour with no other colour on him but this wolf... He is black with a hint of blue shine in it.

Asher responded with a snarl, his massive form charging forward with terrifying speed. They collided. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the air, cracking the earth beneath them. Trees groaned in protest as if the forest itself was about to shatter. Seraphina’s white wolf lashed out, her claws raking across Asher’s black fur, but he countered with his own swipe, his claws tearing into her side. They rolled, their massive bodies colliding in a blur of white and black, their power sending ripples of energy through the very ground beneath them.

My voice lives in the cursed wolves I send out as weapons. But now, they fail. The Ashfang female and her mate — the Blackthorne and the Blackmoor — they resist more than they should. Even the broken one, the watcher I sent to observe them, is beginning to fracture. I taste his doubt through the link we share, like ash on my tongue. I will need to cut him from the root. The cursed wolves that return to me drag their broken limbs and stare at me with hollow eyes. They are not like her. They do not feel. They obey. They kill.

And realized,it was hers. She sat bolt upright, choking on air that stung her lungs. The fire pit beside her had gone out. The seer was nowhere to be seen. Only the wolves remained, six of them, broad-shouldered and moon-eyed, circling slowly, their fur silver-dappled in the half-light. The largest among them, Ashfang, let out a low, guttural growl. Not threatening. Warning. Seren touched her chest. The scar was glowing again.
