The forest was still and peacefully asleep. Dried leaves crunched under her feet as she stepped outside the hut. Her eyes were soulless and stared into nothingness. She lifted her arm as if she was reaching out to something, and her expression stayed the same, yet her eyes flickered with loneliness. “Julia,” a deep voice called from behind. “Sleepwalking again?” Zeke walked towards her. As soon as he pulled her arm down, she collapsed into his arms. He carefully lifted her up and carried her into the hut. He gently placed her down and watched her.

“I feel like you’re trying to cast a spell on me and drag me down to your underwater kingdom.” What a line. My chest nearly burst with the urge to crack up, but I held it in. The show was still running. She was even promoted by the next day. That was when Mom realized the scent could enchant men. She had planned to move the plant so she could care for it more. But she discovered that its roots had spread shockingly fast in just a short time, and they stretched directly toward the buried corpse nearby. I concluded within my mind and in a few minutes I could smell her closer, I had covered most of the distance. There were other scents, stronger than hers, not far from her. Their scent was different from humans, forcing my eyebrows to draw closer to each other. I hastened my footsteps and closed the gap between us, but kept my distance away from her and the group of people walking behind her. I narrowed my gaze on the two guys walking behind her, and I noticed something weird, they had a mark at the back of their neck, was that a bat? and the vibe they were giving off was strange, they weren't one of us.

I pulled her into me and we lost ourselves to each other. ***** It was the most beautiful morning of my life. I was so happy...
