I set the glass down slowly, my eyes locking on his. “You think you can demand more from me?” I said, my voice steady. “I’m done with you, Sebastian. Your services are no longer required.”
His face twisted in confusion, then anger. “What? You can’t just—”
Before he could finish, I moved in a blur, my hand plunging into his chest. His ribs cracked like dry twigs under my fingers.
Sebastian gasped, eyes wide in shock, as I gripped his still-beating heart. With a quick yank, I ripped it out, blood spraying warm across my hand. He crumpled to the floor, lifeless, his body hitting the carpet with a thud.
