I'm sure he wants to know why but I won't be able to tell him that and so I hope he doesn't ask me. "Rest assured. Your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anyone about it. Your secret is safe with me," he assured me. "Thank you," I told him.

"There's something that only Damian and I know. Something that even Lucinda, my twin, doesn't know." Freedman's eyes narrowed, intrigued. "What is it?" I hesitated, then revealed the secret. "We have a safe in our home. It's where we keep some of our most precious belongings. And the combination to open it... only Damian and I know." His expression changed, and he nodded. "I see. And what's the combination?" I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. "That's the thing. It's not just a number. It's a phrase. A phrase that Damian and I came up with on our honeymoon."

His eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer to me, his voice dropping to a menacing whisper. Maxwell nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. There was a look of disgust in his eyes, but he agreed with me, clearly willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted.
