The Scent of Secrets

The Scent of Secrets

"Relax, we're just pretending, remember?" He didn't reply, just watched me with those piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me, into the part of me that was starting to get lost in our performance. The cameras flashed, a strobe light of our perfect fairytale life. We were the "perfect couple," living a lie so grand it felt almost real. But behind the smiles and the designer clothes, we were two broken people with a secret that could destroy everything. Suddenly, a woman with a sleek blonde bob and a killer red dress approached. Her features were sharp and elegant, and I guessed she had some Western blood in her. She hugged Eavon tightly, her eyes sizing me up with an unnerving inten

Flames of desire.

Flames of desire.

Claire's POV I feel like making my favorite dish in the world. I feel like having curry tonight. I do not have all the ingredients, but I do have enough money to go and buy them, so I go to the local supermarket. There is only one supermarket in town. When I walk in I can see people looking at me and whispering. This is a very small town. Willowcreek is not very big. Everybody knows everybody's business, and that is a problem for me sometimes, but I do not care anymore. I know they are still gossiping about Sienna taking my husband away from me. As I turn the corner, I see Mike and Sienna standing there. I want to turn around but it is still late.

THE ALPHA'S SLAVE

THE ALPHA'S SLAVE

"See? We're a town of silly jokes and serious secrets. It's a delicate balance." The conversation flowed, a blend of playful banter and cryptic hints. Aurora learned about the annual "Glimmering Night of a Thousand Lanterns," a tradition shrouded in ancient folklore, the legend of the mischievous sprites that inhabited the old mill, and the unsolved mystery of the disappearing scarecrows. Each tale was more peculiar than the last, painting a vivid picture of a town steeped in both the mundane and the magical.

Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging

Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging

"People talk. Money buys information. Especially in small towns where everyone notices strangers." Spring Creek. Someone had recognized me, sold the information. That black SUV I'd seen in town wasn't paranoia after all—someone had been watching me, tracking my movements. I'd been stupid to think I could hide so close to where I'd grown up. This town had the longest fucking memory. "What do you want, Daniel?"

The book is insanely interesting. At first, it starts like all the other novels of this genre, but quickly deviates from the clichés by being actually true to reality in terms of abusers and their behavior. The author also brilliantly addresses the reality of the "savior" trope. It's refreshing af

Totally riveting!!! Fully developed characters and unexpected plot twists with satisfying resolutions. l love that the main characters are not perfect. They are flawed despite their wealth and power which makes the novel realistic. I hate that it has to end. I'm reading the last 2 chapters tonight.

Warrior of the Way

Warrior of the Way

"Can you imagine being the parents? Your living, breathing baby stolen and replaced with a tree trunk. How sick in the head can the person be who did that?" Giselle shook her head, avoiding eye contact with Betsy as she stacked sausage links on the paper. Harry Moss bounced between the customers, taking orders and making jokes. Brighton Cove was a small town in New England, where everyone knew everyone else and secrets might as well be printed in the Brighton Gazette. "Do they know yet who is doing it?" Giselle asked, her voice almost a whisper, as if afraid of the answer.

Two Same Secrets

Two Same Secrets

Yours sincerely, April The weight of her decision hung in the air, and it left us all stunned, grappling with the sudden turn of events and the uncertainty that lay ahead. My mom's voice trembled as she handed me April's farewell letter. "Lily, this is... it's unbelievable," she said, her eyes filled with tears. I nodded in silent agreement, unable to find words to express the shock and confusion that had taken hold of me. The room felt heavy with the weight of April's decision. Just then, we heard a commotion downstairs. The front door slammed, and voices grew louder. It wasn't long before Sebastian's family had arrived. They were equally distraught and searching for answers.

A Decade of Secrets

A Decade of Secrets

Leonard must have figured me out by now. He knew I was the type who acted shy on the outside but had secret desires underneath. After a few moments of teasing, he pulled me into another round, and we kept going until we were both completely worn out. When I was ready to leave, he insisted that I did not put my underwear back on. He said he wanted to keep it as a souvenir. I did not want to, but I could not argue with him, so I just did what he said. My stockings were already torn, so I could not wear those either. I took them off and went home wearing only my skirt.
